IF you are new to LED and want help choosing what to buy, POST HERE!

I'm going a slightly different route with the LED lighting and not using them as my primary light, but as a secondary supplementation to a couple EFDL 400W lights wich will cover ~4x4. Now, I'm aware that even though it claims to replace the 1kW HPS, it will never produce the same, even SCROG'd...

    LED recommendations?

I'd be interested in seeing what design you're going with, and the specs! Basically, I know that a 400W EFDL isn't going to produce, watt for watt like a HPS, even SCROG'd, so I figure (albeit without concrete evidence) that dropping in a couple ~300W LEDs (which should end up being around 180W...

    Dave's Area 51/Inda-gro combination grow

I'm going to be working with a bit more space, and actually am concerned about a lack of heat in certain months, so that news is actually somewhat of a relief to hear. Did you throw it up on eBay yet? Link? ;)

    Dave's Area 51/Inda-gro combination grow

Subbed! I plan on running LED/Induction combo, can't wait to see how the areas that get both lights do!

    Let's talk lighting schedules (12/12, 11/13, etc)

Would you, though? I feel that those huge ops have more to lose, and are way more invested into doing something the same way they always have, the way they know produces tangible results that they can plan on.

    LED recommendations?

Based on a lot of the research I've done, I've come to a very similar conclusion. Especially with all the completed grow pictures that these companies are trying to sell me with. Just not impressed with the final product. What I've seen is that while they may be using Cree or bridgelux LED's...

    Let's talk lighting schedules (12/12, 11/13, etc)

I'm also considering doing a DIY panel, I've got a few years of electronics knowledge going to waste, and feel that am more than properly trained to build a couple. I'm going to head over to the DIY section and check out some of what's out there. I'm looking at the Hans panel, and I don't see...

Yes, that far red after lights out simulates that spectrum you get at the end of the sunset, I know exactly what you're referring to. I was also told that it is also there at first light as well. I've seen the ones you refer to, and am intrigued by them, and makes perfect sense to me. No, I...

    LED recommendations?

Tell me about the Mars II lamp.... How does it compare to the Hans panel? Appears to be 3-4x the wattage, do the results correlate with the extra power consumption? Appears that it has a slightly larger cover area, but is there anything else?

    Let's talk lighting schedules (12/12, 11/13, etc)

Well, I don't have anything solid to back it up, haven't found any data, but he was saying, that essentially, the plant ends up taking about an hour or so to wake up anyhow because of that shock, not being woken up gradually. I haven't found any data to back it up, one way or another though...

    Let's talk lighting schedules (12/12, 11/13, etc)

Alright, so I was having this discussion with a friend, and I'd love a group input on this... We were getting into simulating real outdoor conditions, and basically, how the sun does not simply kick on and off. From first light of dawn to full sunrise, you're not going to be at peak, like you...

    Hans Panel 56w triband led(65w total)>VS<Indagro 100 full spec induction(105w)+FIGHT!

Great journal! I'm really excited to implement my research, I plan on going with a 400W Induction and two LED panels (exact brand TBD, but I've safely ruled out overseas LED based on info from this thread and another). Thinking either Onyx Bloom or A51 with a SCROG. Is that a little overkill...

    Another Michigander, punching in.

Ahoy! So much great information here. I've been lurking around for a year or so now, researching, planning room design, checking out journals, and trying to learn all I can. I'm about to start my first run within a month or so, but I've been tending gardens for a few years now, so I'm not...
