I top my plants at like 2 and a half weeks and then often clone the cutting. I think theres effectively no limit. If you can cut enough off while leaving enought of the mother plant to grow from then it'll ve fine.

I've never trellised, and never will. My (probably unpopular) opinion is that its kind of silly. I tie down individual braches to the pot that its in. Doing it that way barely takes any more time in the grand scheme of things. And that way each plant is a discreet unit rather than everything...
