No, dude, flushing just refers to cutting out your nutrients a week or so before you harvest, running on just water, in order to 'use up' all the stored nutrients and remove the 'chemical taste.' There are two schools of thought here, one says it's a must, the other says it's stupid to cut out...

I've been letting the pH swing from 5.8 to 6.3, trying to find a sweet spot. I think I've found it at 6.1, as they'll drink over 5L (I don't measure anymore, I just 'fill to the line' and add nutes) of water out of a 50L reservoir, and take 90~100PPM of nutrients out of the water with it...

Another vote for HM EC and pH meters. They seem like good instruments (I use the one above, and the pH meter with the yellow lid to match) and are fairly priced.

So true. It took weeks to for my pH to become stable. I was adjusting twice a day, even, as it was swinging so much. Without keeping an eye on that my plants would have died or simply not done as well as they have. I still take daily readings, of course, though now if I miss a day or so I...

Ah, okay well that's a consideration. I planned on using the tent as the drying space, too, as I figured I have good control over the environment in there. Those hanging mesh racks I've seen would make better use of the space, or at least easier use of it. I'll have a look on eBay. Ha ha...
