    vortex monster grow

Is that towards the end of Week 4? I thought they'd be a little thicker by then. Guess it's all in weeks 7-9. I'm on week 3 day 4 and seeing the same quickly fading leaves. I thought I was fucking up real bad but I see yours are fading/dying off too so I guess it's not me/my inexperience. #5...

    DWC beginner

Guys, don't forget PPM as a nominal value without knowing the scale isn't too useful. If you meant 900 PPM @ 0.7 (KCl) [1.3 EC] and he has a pen which uses the 0.5 scale (NaCl), he could end up burning them if he just followed that suggestion. He'd end up giving them 900PM @ 0.5 which is 1.8...

    First grow; vortex dwc scrog

Took out the portable AC and setup a 8k BTU window unit on the ground. Next to it, I setup an industrial fan blowing air at the AC. This should help keep it cool and blow the hot exhaust air towards a window where I've setup a window fan to have all air flowing in that one direction. When I...

    GrowLab 80 - G13 Pineapple Express ... [200w T5 veg / 400w HPS flower]

Good to see you were able to do something about your temps. I'm working on that myself. Looking nice and frosty.

    First grow; vortex dwc scrog

Damn it, another crazy hot day. Room temps reached 100F, ambient was around 92-95. Portable AC was worthless. The compressor constantly kept turning off after running for 2-3 minutes. I hope I won't have to abandon this grow but if this heat continues, FML. I have two window ACs I can use, but...

Outdoor Grow: KC36, KC42, Sweet Dwarf, CH9 Cluster

gl with this. While I've never taken much an interest in outdoor grows and thus my advice doesn't have any weight, I'd like to second the idea of vegging them inside for a while. Just seems more logical. You'll be giving them a fighting chance.

Double Bladed leaf & Bud site growing on leaf

Just noticed my Vortex is doing this too on two leaves. I found it super fucking weird. I have 3 rooted clones of it so if it turns out to be a desirable trait then hooray!

    First grow; vortex dwc scrog

When I went to check on my plants today after just before lights off, the temperature was at 100F:cuss:!@%$. Had to immediately setup a portable AC in there. I had it setup before but @ 800W AC + 800W for lighting + fans and pumps and the t5 fixture, my electricity doubled for two months (was...

    vortex monster grow

Also watching this. While my vortex is a much smaller grow than yours, we're at about the same point in flowering (I think you're ahead by a week or week and some change). Looking forward to seeing how they yield when they're allowed to really grow.

My 1st personal CFL grow cabinet ~

Depends on your nutes + additives. For example, my personal feeding regimen is a bit of extra calmag followed by Protekt (silcone), which raises the pH, and then by the appropriate amount of nutes (determined by EC). Say for seedlings 15 days from sprouting. I'm not gonna bombard them with nutes...

My 1st personal CFL grow cabinet ~

I believe PH down comes with a pipette, I'm assuming you're using that for dosing your water. If not, get a pipette. $6 for 100 off amazon. Another alternative I've seen used is empty drop bottles (think eye drop bottles, but they have larger ones with tops you can unscrew to refill em). If...

    First grow; vortex dwc scrog

Finally got around to charging my camera and decided to take some pictures. Timewreck and SLH: Got a chance to snap some pictures of these for you guys. The SLH apparently gets very little love and is usually off to the side. The timewreck was cut back and bent to half its size cause it...

    First grow; vortex dwc scrog

Thanks man. Really appreciate it. Yeah, that is what I'm worried about. With the way that opening is built, I can't really move the plant out with the screen and bucket all intact. The plant has gotten too big for that. One possible approach I'm thinking of is shutting off all ventilation and...

    First grow; vortex dwc scrog

So I figure I should quit lurking and contribute, if anything at least to document my first grow. Feel free to comment along the way. I can't really dedicate an entire room so an awkward closet on the side will have to do. Even then, I can't risk anyone just opening the closet and seeing my...

    Ventilation holes?!

You're cutting holes for intake or exhaust? I'm going to assume you want it for a passive intake (meaning you handled your exhaust already). If it was me, I'd put a false floor (takes off about 2.25 inches for your height). I'd get some 3/4" plywood and 1 2x4. I'd have the...

400w Club-Show Off Your 400w Pride And Joy

A note on CMHs from AdvancedTechLighting: No offense but FUCK advancedtechlighting + their owner. I ordered fine back in december (got my bulb in 3 days), but recently, well not so recently anymore, needed a replacement bulb and figured why not get another one. That was over two months ago...

    First Grow

Don't be so quick to dismiss. I've had to buy T4s for non-growing related light fixtures. They are tubular/u-shaped. check the link: http://www.amazon.com/SYLVANIA-Pin-GX-23-Light-Bulb/dp/B0034D9UTC/ref=pd_cp_hi_0. They are not meant for growing. SivineDavita: The amount of light you'll need...

    EC, TDS, or PPM

I'm with guerrilla medic on this one. I wish everyone would just give their values in EC. I have a bluelab truncheon and go by EC. Here's a good link for those that need it explaining ppms, the scales, and what information to provide aside from just the nominal ppm value: Understanding what ppm...

    Plant Lighting Hydroponics.com REVIEW

I realize this thread is old (and has recently been revived) but I want to just share my experience with this site (and buying local) for anyone searching in the future. I recently placed my second order from this site for a new setup. On my first order, I only spent around $300 on a 400w...
