How do you YOU harvest/transfer/store pollen?

Thats a good question...I typically pollinate the females around 3 weeks after flip but every strain is different and you'll need to use your discretion. I bet your male could last that long but seeing as how it sounds so small and started flowering so soon, I'm not really sure. Just got an idea...

How do you YOU harvest/transfer/store pollen?

Really good advice here to spray down the pollinated branch with water after removing the pollen containing bag (after a few days perhaps).

    Geneiac's Breeding Thread

Day 6 of 12/12 It doesn't take too long for these males to show themselves. Been watching the plants closely and I've got 27/40 putatively sexed. I'm using a chart to keep things organized, it's posted below as well as a pic of a male and a female and a random shot or two. One male has caught...

How do you YOU harvest/transfer/store pollen?

This is what I do as well, but I'm usually just trying to pollinate plants grown alongside the males, not store the pollen. Lots of handy tricks to choose from here, good luck!

    Geneiac's Breeding Thread

First day of 12/12 was on Monday. Seeing as how I want to identify plants that are apically dominant, I did a bit of pruning before the flip on Sunday as seen below... Pre-Prune: Post-Prune: For the most part I left the top two or three nodes, but used my discretion and sometimes left a...

holy shit an 8" fan would be like a hurricane haha...I realized I probably could have gotten by with a 4 inch fans instead of 6", but just like with the lights, happy to be slightly over powered than the alternative. Good luck with the environment, sounds like things are soon to be dialed in.

Putting the driver inside your tent could get you to the VPD you want but yeah I hear ya 60% is sketch so late in flower...if this is just a seasonal issue IDK I might try to wait it out but dehumidifiers would obv. be the best option and hey if the wife says let that stimmy check splash, then...

    M4S73R's Perpetual Organic LED Grow.

I feel ya, I'd love to get a PAR meter but the nice ones are too pricey to buy in order to get one set of lights dialed in. I feel like you might get some toasted tips from that distance but IDK maybe something in my set up predisposed my plants to that issue and it sounds like you've had your...

I'm very curious to see how you handle these lights. I'm still getting the hang of my x3s...also did I read that you're running critical mass? If so, that's the same strain I was running when I got my first x3! I got the light in time for the flip. Ran it full blast, ended up with some scorched...

The Benefits of Letting Your Soil Rest

Thanks dogg. Gonna cull about half cause they're males but who knows, could still end up with 6+ females in a bin...a bit crazy I know, but I've gotta live up to the user name

The Benefits of Letting Your Soil Rest

THE FINAL COUNT DOWN Definitely a good call going with the x5 not the x6s...from what I can tell, I think I've got more light than I need for my tent, but I'd rather that than the alternative. Shits gonna get bonkers as I try to prevent my whole crop from getting pollinated but leave a few...

So sick! I'm literally a few miles back on the same road as you...KISS is the only thing that makes sense to me when it comes to growing...and it doesn't get any easier than water when they need it. Hugelkulture is a new term for me and I'm stoked to take a deep dive into this reading. Thanks...

The Benefits of Letting Your Soil Rest

Those grass roots beds are nifty. I'm planning to switch to a no till system soon but will probably be working out of the bins for the foreseeable future. I give each bin about 1-1.5 gallons at a time when needed. Maybe every 3-4 days. I notice that you've got a ChilledTech logo in your...

The Benefits of Letting Your Soil Rest

Hahaha a bit of context could be useful. 8 plants per tote is obviously a bit ridiculous. I'm pretty sure they're 30 gallon totes not that it really makes a difference. But essentially I'm performing a phenohunt and wanted to crack as many seeds as possible and I'm looking to breed plants that...

The Benefits of Letting Your Soil Rest

Just an interesting observation I thought I would share... I'm currently in veg of my second grow using the soil in these bins (its been recycled and my last run was the first with this soil). All bins contain the same mix of local high quality potting mix with some additional perlite. During...

    Geneiac's Breeding Thread

Hell yeah man, well definitely follow along if you want to see if that's the case. I'm assuming the autoflowering allele is recessive but seeing is believing as they say. I have my F1 generation from a Photo x Auto and I assume there is no auto lineage in the photo strain. My plan is to create...

    Geneiac's Breeding Thread

Very cool. I'll be lookin for a male or two in this population. When I created this population of seeds that I'm growing now, one out of my four males was noticeably the most vigorous and it was also the only one that had a terpy aroma so it made for an easy choice. I've seen some males on this...
