Why the 3500K 80Ra pcLED spectrum is more appropriate than 3000K 80Ra ? In what way(s)? BTW, me thinks that +/- 12 pcs of LED devices per board won’t make THE difference neither at efficiency ,neither at spatial output distribution (“spread”) .

If the coating is applied properly and forms a thin layer of about 30um thickness , then the output loss is negligible.

It’s actually called conformal coating. There are few different types of it,depending on the coating material used,like Parylene,acrylic,polyurethane,silicone and more . Many of them can be found in spray can format . Electrolube AFA is one of them , very well suited for LED applications...

There are more than a few of research papers that back up what i’ve stated to the last word (Hence my post is the shorter and simpler version ... ) Please post at least one paper that will prove the inaccuracy that you ‘ve spotted.

My favorite ones are the Photo Boost ones from PLC ,Salmo. They are very well designed and do have the right amount of 660 red output ,a good amount of green for hitting max densities and a well balanced amount of blue output.

Too much of blue output in relation to the red one. Maybe even not enough green output ,when at high densities ( > 800 mol/sec/m^2) . An unbalanced “burple” with a hint of green & yellow . The R&D department behind this Sammy horti-strip ,for sure did not have cannabis in mind . 3000•K 80Ra...

A chelating agent should be used along . Another ( water soluble )alternative is Magnesium Nitrate .
