That looks like a calcium defeciency, cal mag wont hurt in bud, I run it all the time, if anything it will delay the inevitable yellowing and dropping off the lower fan leaves.

Might be over watering, that's generally what causes a downward claw. Yes it is possible to over water in a fabric pot.
