looking for an LED for flowering

Definitely a good option and, basically, good to go out of the box. There are some videos on youtube showing how to put it together, but my 6 year old could do it. My only concern would be that the light spread seems to be more appropriate for a rectangular space than a square. Not the end of...

looking for an LED for flowering

I know some people like their blurples, but having run both, I can say that the quantum boards are light years ahead. Sorry, couldn't resist. Plus, its not any more expensive to build the boards and they save you a ton of electricity. I forgot to mention that the QB120 would also be an option...

looking for an LED for flowering

I highly recommend one of the quantum board kits from Horticulture Lighting Group. Atreum also makes them. I have boards from both and love them. Alternatively, I'm hearing really great things about the HLG QB96 Elite which includes some supplemental red diodes. You're going to need about 30...

    Add More LEDs?

I don't see why you need to throw out the Vipars and make the complete switch to QBs at once. Why don't you think about just dipping your feet in the HLG world and supplementing what you've got? You'll also get a chance to compare the lights if you see one side of the tent growing much better...

    Blue cheese 3 weeks old

They're slow at first, but then really get going. I'm almost exactly a month ahead of you. My seeds sprouted 11/21/18. Here's 3 weeks (December 12) and today. That's a 2x4 tent they're in.

They look just like mine do at 3 weeks.

    Led harvest

I don't see what's wrong with gpw as a metric except that it doesn't take into account time. Maybe we should be figuring grams per kilowatt hour which would lead right into a cost/gram. We need some way to keep track of how we're doing. Also, 1.9-2.1gpw is really good. It's at the high end of...

    Led harvest

Agreed. If we're talking about different types of lights the wattages get confusing. The blurple mfrs make it worse with their "equivalent" or "replaces" wattage. We all know that is crap. In any case, I was just talking about the high quality, full-spectrum lights. In other words, Samsung...

    21 days from sprout...

They're looking good, man. Just let them roll. The autos are supposed to be runty little things, but they'll put out some bud for sure. Also, you can do whatever light schedule you want. I run my plants 24/0 and they have no problem with it. Some people think they need a "rest" period, but I...

    Led harvest

I just went down to the garden and here's what those QB132s can do. The plant on the left is a strawberry cough. The right is a northern lights. Feminized seeds planted on 11/18 and flipped 1/5, so that gives 2 weeks for germination/seedling, and 5 weeks veg (or 7 weeks veg, depending on how you...

    Led harvest

I grow in a 2x4 with 4 QB132 boards from HLG. It's a great setup for a small space because the spread is perfect and there are no heat issues. You can wire it to have the driver outside the tent if you need to further control the heat. I'd run all 4 boards in series off an HLG-320H-C2100. At...

    Is QB132 V2 coming?

HLG just responded to an email stating that the QB132 V2 will be arriving to them next week and will be available on Amazon a few days later. They also said that their USA production line will restore all stock within 3-5 weeks, but I'm unclear if that is the QB132 or all products.

    Starting my first grow

You may not need the humidifier and/or dehumidifier. That will depend on your ambient conditions. I'd set up the tent and run it for a few days without the plants (can be while they're germinating elsewhere) to see how temps and humidity look. It's really dry around me right now, but the plants...

    Is QB132 V2 coming?

Maybe someone from HLG can comment, but is the QB132 V2 on the way and when could we expect it? I saw that the QB120 V2 went up on Amazon today, so I'm hopeful.

    New Samsung LM301H

Well, it is Hannukah. I'm not Jewish, but I assume they like LEDs as much as the rest of us. Shalom.

    New Samsung LM301H

I've posted this elsewhere in the interwebs, but thought I should pass it along to the RIU crowd too in case it was missed. Samsung, on 11/21, announced that they're coming out with a new diode called the LM301H. Shipping is supposed to start in 1Q 2019. RIU won't let me post a link to the press...
