I prefer mini-greenhouse, and since it's already in a garbage bag :) Any pebble like gravel can be used to set the clones on for proper aeration and drainage in a mini-greenhouse. I've learned to use the soft rockwool, I just bank them with clay gravel for added support. Rockwool, if used...

The air stones used in DWC reduces the saturation rate. There's a thread on RIU from some time back that has calculated the amount of air needed to run the roots in water constantly. In systems like this it is best not to have any suspension at all other than the net because any suspension will...

If the roots of a pot plant are 100% saturated they will start to die or suffer root loss after 15 minutes. Unlike lettuce and other plants, marijuana requires a dry time in between watering. Constant flow systems are prone to bud rot and root loss, even though they start out great. The larger...

I prefer cloning bins, or like mini-greenhouse. I've used 1-2.5 gallon plastic containers for mini cloning bins for three to eight clones. I cut the top off and use a clear plastic bag for the top. I can raise the bag up a bit on the container if necessary. I suspend about 40-80 watts cool...

If you can't afford an expensive digital timer you can go with a cheap digital timer and a $5, 40 amp, 12 vdc relay, that can be found in most automotive departments.. Any 12 vdc plug in adapter can be used to trigger the relay. This works for lights also. Overloading a digital timer usually...

    Helppp... please.

Just go a little heavier on the watering on the damaged plant(s). Where there's leaf damage you can be sure there's root damage. Be sure the pots have good drainage. Be sure to have run off for every watering. This helps remove toxins and excess fertilizer from the soil.

    Making Hash Tutorial

I can remember when people rolled oil spliffs. One day I decided to crumble the tobacco and crush it in with the oil and smoke it in my pipe instead of the spliff thing. It looked and acted like pressed puddy hash but it was just oil and tobacco. Then one day I got this brilliant Idea, why not...

Three types of hydro in a small tent on one airpump?

With the timer. When the res reaches the level the float switch shuts off the valve...then the timer will disengage at its programmed time and things go on as normal. I just use a cheap 1/2 hour rotary timer for this. These valves are very low amperage, not like a pump. Set this top up cycle in...

Three types of hydro in a small tent on one airpump?

I never clean the hydroton until I pack it away. Considering all the water going through it. I also use a pump up sprayer to clean the top of the tables, reflective plastic pieces at the base of each snip protecting the roots from the light etc and spray down the plants every so often. Unlike...

What's the best hydro setup and why

My system uses a timer, to activate a valve I pull from an old washing machine or a person can get a new valve from an appliance store. A float valve is used to shut it down when the res is topped up. Timer/electronic valve/float switch. I use a screened connector and set the tap on low. Same...

What's the best hydro setup and why

Flood and Drain hydro tables are the easiest and most reliable with the least amount of failure.

    First time growing

IMO the soil you purchased is just fine. They seem to be coming around nicely. You should study cloning to take snips for moms before they show sex, then you'll have more plants to experiment with or in the event of failure. Also the clone(s) can replace males that have to be pulled. Code the...
