Why do some guys wats to still use mono led with cobs?

Yeah LEDs makes me cream my pants. :bigjoint: Any "tool" that will make me better faster harder will get my cash. :peace:

The problem is, they're rated for much more aren't they? Others claim 3-5 year warranties when their fixtures aren't even designed for such rigorous operating schedules, failing within a year. You're lucky if they last more. I call this deception. Most LED modules have a rated lifespan of 50,000...

    Need help choosing LED

Just realised you have a two foot high space - you might want to investigate if the 120W model will bleach your plants. I have no experience with a space that "short". These lights are pretty strong.

Optic Lighting Vero 120W Use 10% discount code (SUPRASPL or HIGHYIELD) Oh I forgot to mention - there's also a 6month PayPal Credit/Financing scheme. That way you could also probably save a couple more bucks a month for the 200W which is the best bang for buck in their product line.

    Need help choosing LED

For $100 more you could get a 120W cob light good for full cycle. Check out Optic Lighting's Vero 120W 4000K. If you think the 300W light is better, power draw ain't a good basis for performance. It's also a good match for the coverage of your space and reliable. I can't say that for the other...

And they have comparatively shorter lifespans than decent cobs. I consider kits employing Epistars as "disposable lights" - be ready to replace it with a new one after a couple of grows. Granted these new Mars Pro lights are relatively new, but the stigma the company's left is something to be...

    Most powerful 6"/150mm inline fan

My 6" fan is rated at 500cfm, haven't seen any that go higher. It's a Virtual Sun Hydroponics 6" inline fan. I got the set with the 6" carbon filter. http://www.virtualsunhydroponics.com/virtual-sun-6-inline-exhaust-duct-fan-ul-listed Over 400-500cfm you'd need bigger or multiple fans to boost...

    Floralicious plus? What's the point?

Now this is GOLD for people looking at ways to maximize yield without using the complete expert General Hydroponics lineup. I was on the fence myself with what nutes to use for my first indoor grow and this just sounds perfect for my needs. So this is basically a FloraNova based Lucas Formula...

    LED Companies w/ LINKS

Cheapest? DIY with Veros. Most efficient as of date? CXB3590 cobs. For safety reasons I decided against a full-on DIY (not so confident with AC) and just bought Optic Lighting kits. There are a couple on the market that are similar/close to each other in price/performance - GoGreenLEDs, Pacific...

Why do some guys wats to still use mono led with cobs?

That would be great also, but replacing bulbs suck. I don't think there's an alternative to that since that's the easiest way of providing UV light artificially. Are there any REAL UV LEDs? None right?

Why do some guys wats to still use mono led with cobs?

More cobs with fatter spectrums. There are just too many failure points when using a lot of independent low-power LEDs. It's only a matter of time before agro-specific grow cobs are on the market imho.

Save your money and don't do that plan B. Save up and get a better light, a cob at least like your DIY.

    Led Users Unite!

I got four 200 watters, which on hindsight might be a bit too much for my 4x4 (NOT! :eyesmoke:), but one or two might be repurposed for lighting some clones or a mom in a separate tent if they're too intense. Either way I'm excited to blast my girls with a possible maximum 800W of cob power lol...

Prerequisites for a DIY LED build?

Exactly, this is what more people should be doing. And I am THANKFUL to you for being a part of my LED light education. I was about to pull the trigger on MH (even worse, overpriced PLEDs) before I came to my senses and saw what REAL LEDs can do on this site. Cobs simply rock.

Prerequisites for a DIY LED build?

Those are some good numbers Jimmy, I hope I'll be able to hit the lower limit at least lol. I'll see how 20inches work out when I finally get it set up. It's going to be a 1 plant per light setup in the 4x4, using an indoor soil mix since hydro supplies have been sketchy recently. Optic...
