    COB strips?

What makes you say the COB strips do not need current regulation? Grow journal is here: https://www.rollitup.org/t/continuous-bin-grow.879850/

    COB strips?

I've got some Samsung chipped 5630 strips on the way. Excited to see how they perform compared to the generic 5630/7020 strips I've used so far. I hope they can dissipate their heat without needing to be metal mounted. For the COB strips I'll mount them to something like these and fit them...

Spot on with the strips but most of the light is generated by a single 3000k CXA3070 LED.

So the bins are 60L bins but the lids afford another 17. Inside are LED strips. High power and wired into short segments. As for the height I've had to remove the spacer that I had to improvise. I hadn't had any problems with height during my soil grows. But these two are the first to be...

    COB strips?

She's still a baby and being trained aggressively under that ring on the bottom. But you're right. They will do that if the side lights are close enough. I've done a few http://bucketlink.imgur.com/ I'm emulating @the church man's epic build

    COB strips?

Has anyone had any experience with these? Their cost makes them an affordable alternative to for my particular situation. It seems I can drive these directly from an unregulated 12VDC power supply and I've still got loads of overhead on my 30 amp unit. This is how I'm taking care of...

I got 80g from my last harvest but it was much smaller than the two I've got in flower at the moment. I'm hoping for >100g from those. Hempy buckets and doubling the light volume will do that.

Definitely. It's a crapshoot when you're buying the cheapest LEDs available. But they do work, especially in small parallel sections. I've not paid more than $15 for a 5m length so far. I'd love to build some side lighting but the problem I have and anyone else who's growing in a bin/bucket is...

Definitely. I train the plant out under a wire pot stand Once it's filled out I flip and let the colas head for the lights. Veg time is a little longer because of the aggressive training, 5 weeks usually. I hadn't had any problems with height with any of my soil grows. By flipping to flower...

I would but for now I need the constant airflow through to keep the heatsink cooled.

So the bulbs, which I was fortunate enough to get for free. Are powered directly to their boards and bonded to the lid of the bin. The main LED is mounted to a heatsink that's cooled by the exhaust flow.

    Turning coal into...Ok ..Silver!

Definitely. I think most opt for the UFO for the simplicity but if that's not your thing then what you're describing sounds great. What kind of light levels would you expect from those 24W?

Well unlike a tent I can have the whole lot packed up and concealed in less than 10 minutes. That's about it. It is nice to be able to grab a plant and put it in the bath tub to give it a flush regardless of the light cycle. It's just a hobby that I enjoy. Re: SOG in a bucket. I don't think...
