    I would shade them anyway. Make sure they get hardened from slowly getting them into the full sun. Not sure where you are at, but they will need to get a bit bigger before flower time.

    If you can get your hands on a milk crate and a burlap sack, you can make a great pot. I do this and it works wonders.

    Have you put water in one to see if the drainage is sufficient? That's the only concern I would have.

    I never cut the fan leaves. They are the solar panels I need for growth. However I do a slight defoliation around the bottom. Any branch or node that looks like it will have tiny popcorn buds. I only do like 8-10" up on a 3-4 ft plant. I feel it helps with air flow, watering and sending more...

    I live in the exact center of Cali and I find Early May is the best time for me. Too many cold nights. I have tried a little earlier, but I have to bring them in at night.
