    Stretching and withering

More close ups might help. The yellowing of lower leaves would be lack of Nitrogen. The damage to the top leaves could be slugs or insects. Chemical burning might be possible if you foliar sprayed nutrients or harsh insecticides.

doublejj's Big 2014 light dep greenhouse adventure.....

I don't remember if I mentioned a couple things. Feb of last year I took a bad fall.. Required surgery on one knee and took a while for the other to heal. A couple weeks after getting out of the nursing facility, Fuzzy disappeared. We've had cats suddenly disappear before, but not in over a...

Yeah! It's Bud Worm Season. Pics

Did my second application of Bt/caterpillar killer today. I apply it every two or three weeks until mid flowering or the second week of September. The late applications are a fine mist instead of a soaking spray. Bt is suspended in a sugary sollution. I prefer not to have it penetrate dense buds...

    2014 outdoor

Could you go into more detail? Some of what you say doesn't match my experience. I start my seeds in small pots in a greenhouse in January under natural light. Day length at germination is about 9.5 hours. Six weeks later, when the day length is about 11 hours, most plants reveal sex at the...

    2014 outdoor

In 30+ years, I've never had a flower at the third node on a normal plant. Seeing is believing! One question: Is that plant an autoflowering type? I start my plants in January in a greenhouse with extra heat to keep things above freezing. Nearly all of the starts show sex at the sixth node.

Yeah! It's Bud Worm Season. Pics

Regarding early flowering, I've found that when I move plants from artificial lighting on an 18-6 or 16-8, putting a small light on a timer among them. I set the timer to come on 16 or 18 hours before sunset, and reduce this time by a half hour per week. The light only needs to come on for about...

Yeah! It's Bud Worm Season. Pics

I've been using BT for about thirty years. The3 reason? The shit works. I found one dead worm while trimming. No live ones last fall. This success is due to spraying every two or three weeks with Bt. I take great care to cover the plants thoroughly. It is completely non toxic and organic. I stop...

Yeah! It's Bud Worm Season. Pics

Hi, all! We're expecting 100 degree weather next week. This may inspire an early appearance of the Fiery Skipper butterfly here in the Central Valley. If you are going to use Bt, consider spraying before the 1st of June. Happy growing!

Yeah! It's Bud Worm Season. Pics

C'mon people! Do some READING. I've posted about Bt HUNDREDS of times on this thread! It works! It contains Bacillus thurengiensis which is 100% effective if applied THOROUGHLY. Most years I only see one or two worms. Some years, NONE. Unfortunately it is pretty much too late for this year. Your...

Yeah! It's Bud Worm Season. Pics

I've been using Bt for over 20 years. Originally on tomato plants, but one I discovered bud worms, I've used it on my pot plants as well, with excellent results. Bt not only protects Tomatoes and bud, but also peppers and everything in the cabbage/mustard family. There's a reason why those white...

Yeah! It's Bud Worm Season. Pics

Leave the chewed up leaves, after inspecting them for bug eggs. Left alone, the plant will draw the energy from severely damaged leaves. If they don't turn brown and drop off, the plant has decided they are worth keeping. Let her be the judge. Read up on your bug pests. Safer's insecticidal...

Yeah! It's Bud Worm Season. Pics

Thanks for the greeting! Things are doing well in my garden this year after several weather issues. I'm currently photographically handicapped. A friend gave me a three foot clone of Pineapple Thai. Potent and among the best tasting herbs I've smoked. This is my third year growing it. When I...

Predatoryv insects won't do an adequate job. My garden has both Ladybugs and Praying Mantises, but Bt can be 100% effective with frequent and thorough applications.Start no later than July first and apply at least every three weeks.

how much doesan ounce of outdoor go for, norcal?

I've been doing the outdoor thing a very long time. Although indoors has some nice qualities, I've found genetics is far more important than environment. Good seeds will produce good weed. How well you take care of it will determine how much. Most folks around here get top notch outdoor for...

Holy Smoke Malawi Gold Outdoor Grow

Very nice specimen! If you like, I have three threads below. If you are interested, there are pix of my support systems. Preparation before the rainstorm has proven to be very beneficial. I mostly use remesh; a 6" x 6" heavy wire mesh that will support the heaviest plants. Your plant was among...

    Biggest outdoor cola contest!!

Im 1988 I had an unusual pheno show up. The plant split into two branches that grew about six feet with no further branching. I ended up with two 4' colas that totaled(after breaking down) about 300 grams. Never had anything like it, since.
