Update: They all popped flowers. Never seen em take three weeks from 12/12 to flower. Lesson learned.

Went to 12/12 light seven weeks after the germs broke soil. The mostly sativa are my first time with the strain. The 50/50 hybrid has flowered before at seven weeks. Just gotta wait n see, I guess.

I have four plants, two sativa predominant, two 50/50 sativa/indica. I switched them to 12/12 light two weeks ago today, but only one sativa plant has begun flowering (and doing a really great job of it) while the other three show no signs of flowers. All are under the same conditions. Why...

I'm almost seven weeks in to 12/12 of a single Critical plant and have maybe 20% orange pistols and some lower fan leaf yellowing. Tho there's many, many buds all but a few seem smallish. Do buds continue to fatten after the pistols start to turn? Is the thing already on it's way to ripening?

And there ya go. Thanks. I just have so many buds that won't see direct light for a while, but couldnt understand why they should benefit from so much light. The leaves make the energy.

Am I wrong thinking some defoliate to "get light to the buds"?

That's what I was thinking. Photosynthesis in the leaves. So why does the bud need so much light?

Just a thought. You'll be blowing hot, moist air into yer cool basement. Like a glass of iced tea on a hot afternoon, the cool basement is gonna condense the water vapor from yer tent exhaust and become damp. Be careful you dont start a basement mold issue.

How/why does direct light on a bud affect its ultimate size?

Thanks again, spek9. I'm just an "if it ain't broke, dont fix it" kinda guy. The grow ain't broke, the light it. The grow has been going good and I hate having to change anything.

I'm four weeks into the 12/12 cycle and a couple times in the last week I've found one of my lights (single chip LED) didnt come on with the timer. Three weeks in flower, one of noticable stretch, she's really thickening as well. Should ya wait for some bud development or defoliate early in stretch? By a percentage, how much can safely be removed?
