FFOF ( Fox Farms Ocean Forest ) made Simple - Autoflower

I'm still a bit new to organic growing but my understanding is that you want to maintain a constant level of moisture to promote healthy biological activity rather than the wet/dry cycles you might be familiar with. This also makes it very easy to overwater as it is a fine line between the right...

    Yellow specks in late flower

I sprayed them daily for about a week which seemed to significantly cull them. That was enough to get me to harvest.

FFOF ( Fox Farms Ocean Forest ) made Simple - Autoflower

So has anyone been reusing their would for multiple grows? What are you adding back to it between grows? Are you just mixing in some dry bites like Gaia Green or Dr. Green or are their other depleted nutrients that should be added? I was planning on doing some Gaia Green All Purpose and worm...

    Yellow specks in late flower

I think the citric acid is taking care of the adults. I will keep spraying ever second day until the life cycle runs is course. Also found the culprit eating the leaves on my one plant. I think the damage is already been done on that plant but it is ready to be harvested anyways. The rest of...

    Yellow specks in late flower

The citric acid didn't burn the plans or seem to stress them so that is a plus. I will give them another hit this evening

    Yellow specks in late flower

I sprayed them down with citric acid this evening. If anything it seemed to piss those buggers off. Fingers crossed that it doesn't burn the plants.

    Yellow specks in late flower

Awesome. I'm going to give this a go right away. I'll save the pyrethrin as a last resort. Anything else work nothing? Light or dark? Let it sit? How often do you spray them?

    Yellow specks in late flower

Does it work on thrips too or just mites?

    Yellow specks in late flower

I think I might try to run a little trial. A few with Safer's End All and a few with the citric acid mix. I'm not thrilled about the pyrethrins in the End All but I figure that it will work. Plus I suspect I might have some caterpillars too so the pyrethrins should help with that too. Sounds...

    Yellow specks in late flower

I found this Citric acid is often mixed with Isopropyl alcohol to make a spray that dehydrates and kills on contact. Simply mix around 3 teaspoons of powdered citric acid per quart of water and spray the plants, particularly the undersides of the leaves where they tend to congregate.

Thoughts on insecticidal soap? I can't seem to find a straight answer about using it during flowering.

    Yellow specks in late flower

Good call on the thrips. I identified them on the plants. How about these black flies in the second photo? Aphids? What are my options for dealing with the thrips this late into flower and outdoors?

Help identifying an inline fan and correct speed controller to use with it

Fair advice. Seems like it is more hassle than it is worth.

Help identifying an inline fan and correct speed controller to use with it

I'm not too concerned about limiting the speed when the lights are on as the 600w HPS should need lots of help being cooled in my 4x4. I was more interested in controlling the speed when the lights are off as the ambient room temp can dip into the 50's during the winter. I want to be able to...

Help identifying an inline fan and correct speed controller to use with it

I fell into some equipment that I would like to use but I am having trouble identifying any info on the 6" inline fan that I have. The placard states FT-L-6 as the model number but Google has failed me so far. How can I determine the motor type without tearing the entire thing apart? The second...

FFOF ( Fox Farms Ocean Forest ) made Simple - Autoflower

A bit of an update on my grow. Minus the heat stress I induced by not properly hardening off my plants when moving them outdoors they seem to be bouncing back. I hope the stress won't impact yields too much. -Started indoors in 75% FFOF and 25% perlite mix with seeds sowed directly in soil...

FFOF ( Fox Farms Ocean Forest ) made Simple - Autoflower

I'm prepping for my first outdoor organic grow this summer and decided on a FFOF with organic top dressing feeding. My plan is: - Germinate seeds in final containers ( 7-gal smart pots) - Bottom 1/3 of pot made up of 2 parts FFOF with 1 part perlite and 2 Tbps Gaia Green All Purpose 4:4:4 -...
