You can grow 2 - 3 in there. Just don't let the get too big and LST them. The water farm will grow you a giant! IMHO drill some more holes in the bottom of the top pot. and add an airstone to the res. I wish the top pot was more of a net pot.

I would not eliminate the drip ring. You still want the root ball to get water and nutes. I would use a bubble disk if you can find one. Otherwise, you can only get like a six inch stone to fit in the bottom.
