thanks for the reply. but i dont get it, why would my plants yield less if i dont change the reservoir? i still pour nuted water in, what difference does it make? also, what is the role of flushing? why not nute it all the way to harvest? thanks in advance
I have a very basic DWC setup, its my first time with this method. I used one of those Walmart plastic shoe boxes and drilled 4 holes on the lid for 4 plants. I didn't know the plants would grow so large but anyway, the area that seperates each hole from the next are broken!

i put a seed straight into 12/12 and its fairly small, about an inch and it already has hairs? does that mean that it will only grow 1 bud and stop growing thus no more bud sites?
hes just clarifying to you that when a plant grows in height and is very "stringy" it means that the plant is not getting enough light. so give it more light or maybe move your light bulbs closer to the plant.
however, when your plant is getting enough light it wont have any unnecessary...
its lumens. dont worry about it, everyone makes mistakes.
as for your question, you should just try to give your plant as much light as possible without burning the leaves.
what kind of light are you currently using? CFLs?
