My plants keep dying when very young - please help diagnose!

Hi all, I keep having plants die on me, and it almost always starts after my first watering. The plant will be doing fine during germination, and will start growing once I put it in moist soil. After I water the first time, however, the leaves start to turn yellow, and often curl downwards...

    Seedling watering question

Hi all, My plants seem to die during the seedling stage pretty often, and my guess is that it has to do with watering. During the seedling stage, I have them in red Solo cups under a 6500k CFL in Foxfarm Seed Starter soil. My question is - at this early stage, how much water should I use? A...

    Leaves curling drastically!

I'm using big bloom on it based on the soil section of the guide at marijuanagrowguide.net. I have grown a couple times in the past and not used bloom until the veg state, but that guide says to use it early so I figured I would try it. I do have 4 slits at the bottom of the cup, and I have...

    Leaves curling drastically!

Hi everyone, See the attached pictures. This small plant (just put it in soil about a week and a half ago) was doing fine, until one day the leaves started drooping/curling as you see in the pics. I am using Fox Farm seed starter soil, and was watering with distilled water until a couple...

Harvesting question - finding the buds vs. the leaves

Thanks. Like I said, the plant wasn't doing well, so I'm nto surprised that it produced really small nugs. I learned a lot this time, though, and hopefully next time it will turn out much better! Thanks again!

Harvesting question - finding the buds vs. the leaves

Hi, This is my first time growing, and there's a very basic thing about harvesting that I don't understand. I had a plant that honestly wasn't doing very well. By all indications, though, it seemed ready for harvest (had been about 2 months of flowering, plenty of amber hairs). See the...

Help with harvesting - where are my buds?

Hi all, I'm sure this is a dumb question, but it's my first time so please bear with me. I had a plant that was not doing very well - leaves droopy, growing slow, little smell. But, I got to the flowering stage and it has produced quite a few little whitish and amberish hairs so I decided to...

Harvesting question - where are my buds?

Hi all, I have a question that I'm sure is very stupid, but this is my first time growing so please bear with me. I have a plant that has not been doing very well, but it has quite a few whitish-amberish hairs so I decided to harvest it to see if I could get anything usable out of it. See the...

Help diagnosing what happened to my plants

I agree that 2.5 weeks without water is a lot, but they were truly doing amazingly well during that time. I mean, you could smell them from really far away. And literally, within 12 hours of watering them after that 2.5 weeks, the smell was completely gone, and they just started dying, and...

Help diagnosing what happened to my plants

Hi all, I have 2 plants growing. They were initially doing AMAZINGLY well, up until about 2-3 weeks in the veg state. They were green, smelly, and doing really well. The thing was, after initially wetting the soil, I didn't water them again for a while - frankly, the soil didn't look dry and...

    Help solving a yellowing/curling problem

Thanks again for all of the info. So is Fox Farms Grow Big the best one to get for this type of problem? Also, any guides around on how to do foliar feeding? Or is it as simple as mixing the fertilizer according to the package, and then putting it in a spray bottle and spraying on the leaves?

    Help solving a yellowing/curling problem

OK, I'm ready to admit that ti's a nitrogen deficiency. Any suggestions on what type of fertilizer/etc to is good for adding Nitrogen? Also, I assume that in order to add this fertilizer, I will need to mix it with water and re-water my plants. But I think it's way to early to water them...

    Help solving a yellowing/curling problem

That looks like it could be it, but the thing is that I have 4 plants all in the exact same type/brand of soil, and it only seems to be a problem on 2 of them. I'm just trying to be really cautious and I don't want to end up giving them a nutrient they don't need. thanks again

    Help solving a yellowing/curling problem

Hi there - Here's my story: I have 4 plants growing a closet under CFL's. This Sunday will mark 4 weeks since I transplanted them from Solo Cups into pots. They have seemed to be doing really well until recently. Some of the leaves have been turning yellow all of sudden, and some of them...

Are my leaves growing too close together?

That's great news... thanks! For me, lighting is the trickiest part as I'm trying not to get TOO elaborate with this. Any suggestions on what kind of proper lighting I can move towards as they get bigger? I have been thinking that as they get bigger, one CFL per plant (even though they are...

Are my leaves growing too close together?

Hi all, this is my first time growing, and I have a question. The leaves on my plants seem to be growing very close together, I assume because I am using 1 CFL per plant that is very close to each plant, so all of the leaves are growing towards it. I'm afraid, though, that the lower leaves...

Help - yellow spots on leaves

Hi there. I have 4 plants that seem to be doing pretty well so far. They were in Solo cups for about a week and a half, and today I transplanted them to much larger pots. I finally got a good, up close look at them today, and 2 of them have yellow-ish spots on the leaves. They have been...

Plants don't seem to be doing very well - help!

Thanks! Actually, those bulbs were only $3.50 each at Target, which is much cheaper than anywhere online. I have moved the lights MUCH closer to the plants (almost touching now), and will see if that helps. I will also look for some new soil, but is it too late to transplant these to new soil?
