I have a 1000w light with a 4 inch duct venting a 3x6x9' room. I just hooked up a 180cfm vortex fan and I'm wondering how long I should test run for a good temp. The light is just a batwing style hood but the duct is pulling air directly from the light.

I have a 3x6x9 closet with a 1000w hps bulb. What would be the best exhaust fan with a passive intake? Do i need a cool-tube? 8 plant grow thanks bongsmilie

not worth the $ IMO, you can build on better suited for your needs for A LOT less

I would keep my fans on at all times. Is the temp really dropping that bad on you? Also why is it? Lights off or outside temp drop?

I think it would be worth your time to say screw it with the blankets and throw ten bucks worth of paint up. Any loss of lumens (light) is a huge loss. You gain so much by being efficent. my .02

I painted my walls with flat white rostellum paint. just make sure you get some fresh air if you use that stuff. works like a charm, my 1000w hps makes the room glow unbelievably

Maybe water curing is the way to go for you. It has its disadvatages from normal curing but takes a lot less time. I would do a quick water cure on your bud your going to smoke and let the rest cure normally. Cured=much better imho

I thought that the mylar was to thin to really reflect the light? When I was going to use it I held a peice up at warlmart and saw the light from the roof through it

In? As long as you can pull in as much as you put out then it wouldn't make a difference. Can you bring the intake air in from a very cool place? Outside?

Your hard pressed on space. Cfl lights would of worked better. Make sure nothing is restricing air flow, you need as much as you can get. Fans could help point them at the cool tube from the bottom IMO

This is my first grow period. I was planning on going soil till I got to roseman's profile and look at all his posts. I know a guy that has a similar setup but its two per smaller tub. He uses nets that hang from his pots that go down to the bottom and serve as a sort of root sack in a wool...

Would growing the same strain counter some of the problems I might have?

I got that one as part of a 'deal'. I plan on upgrading after the plants are already growing, maybe three weeks into veg ($$$).
