Going 12/12 while rooting sativa cuttings for a SOG?

I probably should have updated this thread, since I actually rooted a couple plants under 12/12. For one clone, I accidentally broke a branch off while I was training the plant in a ScrOG setup around day 20-25 of 12/12. I decided to try to root it even though it already had flowers showing...

Dinafem Super Silver perpetual SOG (CFLs + soil)

Hey! Thanks for reminding me that I didn't post an update to this journal when I was forced to move recently. You can check my recent posts on my other journal for more details, but basically my landlord has decided to move back into my house at the end of my lease, instead of renewing it. So...

CFL bagseed female 12/28/12 one month into flowering

Well now, that's not very nice of you! It's very hard to help unless you have pictures to share, since you said you can't really look at the trichomes. These are the things that happen to a plant when it reaches the end of flowering, other than the trichomes changing: (1) Virtually all the...

1st grow shot! 250w hps closet hempy scrog

No experience with those strains, but I did order from Attitude with no problems so far. With my level of digital paranoia I'm amazed I was able to bring myself to do it. I think going forward I will stick to the Silk Road for seeds. It's mostly homemade crosses and stuff like that, but it's...

1st grow shot! 250w hps closet hempy scrog

Those ladies look like they still have a little ways to go... is there a reason you're harvesting already? All those white hairs make me think the buds will get even fatter if given a week or two more. EDIT: I just realized that post was from earlier in the week, so perhaps they'll be more...

200w+ CFL scrog in the attic

Yeah, I think I'm going to have to agree. By the way, just to give an idea of the stage of flowering at the time of the accidental cutting, this is what it looked like the day after I rooted it: That was on May 22nd, which was the 23rd day of 12/12 for the ScrOG "mother." So, if you count...

200w+ CFL scrog in the attic

There are a couple different factors affecting that. First, there's the problem I mentioned a couple months back, linked to my light cycle and air conditioner. Since the grow box was in the attic AND tapped directly to the house's central a/c, it got coldest when the thermostat was forcing the...

200w+ CFL scrog in the attic

Oh and I forgot to include my final data graphics for this grow. Only the flowering box (FB on last chart) has been updated with latest information, the mother clone has been mostly out of range of my base station, so it hasn't been logging data reliably.

200w+ CFL scrog in the attic

Yeah, I'm struggling right now to keep one clone of this lady alive in sub-optimal conditions. Just like most of our continent, I've had to deal with some ridiculously hot days over the last couple weeks, and I've already made significant progress dismantling and cleaning up my grow area. That...

Btw, in case you just want to compare, this was my last seedling a little less than a month after germination:

Looks healthy, maybe a little heat-stressed (from how the edges of the leaves are curling up). Do you have a thermometer you keep next to it to monitor temperatures during the hottest times of day?

INTENSE LST with wire twist. Trial run on bag seed. Lots of pics.

Looking good as can be expected with that kind of heat. It looks like there might be some kind of lockout occurring with that lower-leaf bleaching. Do you have a soil pH meter?

Closet CFL grow on the low.

Subbed! Those aluminum foil reflectors are probably causing the temperatures right over the plants to be higher than your thermometer is reading elsewhere. You should definitely at least think about getting cheap clamp reflectors from somewhere like Home Depot. They have holes to allow air...

200w+ CFL scrog in the attic

Definitely shouldn't need to cure. The goal should be for it to be as dry as possible, much more dry than you'd want if you were smoking it. If you're planning to use trim and under-canopy buds, I'd recommend increasing the amount to half an ounce per 1.5oz final product, or else your dose...

200w+ CFL scrog in the attic

Since I just made a batch of tincture, I thought I'd share my recipe/process, which I have adapted from Master Wu's revised recipe (available here). I will adopt Master Wu's basic format, but you should definitely read his recipe if you want more background information and details. First, an...

    First grow ever

How dry are you letting it get between waterings? You want it to be parched-in-the-desert dry. Over-watering is usually the first thing wrong when a small plant like that has wilty leaves. Or over-fertilization, if they start drying out on the tips and curling a little.

200w+ CFL scrog in the attic

It's pretty well dried out now, as all but the thickest stems are snapping with almost no bending first. So I weighed it and sealed it up to do some slower curing/drying. The "smokables" come in at about 80g, and the trim/lower buds that are destined for tincture are an additional 27g. I...

    First grow-- CFL's

I mean ideally you probably want to move those lights that are around it even closer, and add reflectors if you can so that you're not wasting as much light from the sides of the bulbs. It couldn't hurt to add another bulb or two just for good measure. And as far as nutes go, that's not an...

Using day length or latitude to estimate a harvest date

Thanks for all the replies! I think I'm going to just do as cindysid suggests and hope I can gauge how close they are one of the times I check on them, and I'm guessing that it won't really be quite finished by the time the first frost sets in, so I'll just have to harvest then anyhow. That...
