Using day length or latitude to estimate a harvest date

I appreciate what you're saying, but I doubt mold will be an issue at this location. I also realize that flowering begins sometime in August usually, but that's a 31-day window. If I can't check on the plants more than once or twice between now and October, I'd like to still get a decent idea...

    First grow ever

I agree that at the very least you should switch out one of those 2700k bulbs for a 6500k one, but preferably at least two of them. Keep at least one 2700k bulb just to diversify the spectrum a bit.

    First grow-- CFL's

It looks pretty healthy overall now, so I wouldn't worry about a few lower leaves getting crispy. If it seems to be spreading up the plant, or if the plant starts showing other signs of being sick, maybe worry then. You have a very indica-looking plant, and that might account for the slow...

200w+ CFL scrog in the attic

The drying method wasn't working too well (pieces kept falling out through the screen), so I just transferred it onto parchment paper, with another sheet over the top to keep off dust, etc. I decided to take a photo since this was a better display of the harvest. There are two small-to-medium...

Using day length or latitude to estimate a harvest date

So I'm doing a guerrilla grow somewhere I can't easily visit regularly, so I can't really decide when to harvest based on appearance of the plant -- I need to pick a date and just plan to harvest then whether it's the perfect harvest date or not. I plan to only trek out there when the NOAA...

    First grow ever

Your current setup is fine until the plant gets bigger. It's better to have those two bulbs kissing the plant than twice as many that you can't get close enough to the leaves yet. And I say move it closer. I try keeping cfls more like half an inch to an inch at most for plants that size.

200w+ CFL scrog in the attic

Depends, as we're on a flexible moving-out schedule where we can extend the lease one additional month if we fail to find another house in time. So it could be early August, but might be early September. I'm hoping I won't have to do it in the attic this time, but we shall see. I'll update...

200w+ CFL scrog in the attic

Thanks! Hopefully next time I can let this girl finish, I feel like she had so much more to give.

200w+ CFL scrog in the attic

Smells like mango lemonade with a hint of pine, I'd say. Though the dried sample I clipped 10 days ago smells a lot spicier and more predominantly piney. Also smokes pretty smoothly already. So, as much as it pains me to do it, I had no choice but to harvest today. My landlord is already...

200w+ CFL scrog in the attic

Just one! I fimmed it early, so it bushed out.

200w+ CFL scrog in the attic

The wait is over! So I switched to a different lens on my camera, which allows me to use my flash in the photos. However, it does not zoom in as close, so no macro shots today. As you can see, the colas are fattening up nicely, though still plenty of white hairs. This is the end of week 10...

200w+ CFL scrog in the attic

Just got home, all is well. It's right around the end of 10 weeks of 12/12 right now and these are definitely harvestable, though not done. Which might need to happen sooner than later since I am having to move out of my house soon, and I kinda want it dried and cured and the whole grow box...

200w+ CFL scrog in the attic

In case anyone is wondering, I've been on vacation for the last 8 days, and don't get home for another couple days yet. This is by far the longest I've left the plants unattended, so I'm more than a little nervous about what I'll be coming home to. I'll update you guys as soon as I unpack!

Using a 600w hps, Scrog or FIM???

My only input is if you do go with a scrog, there's no harm in also fimming. That's what I did! Helped my plant spread into the screen more evenly, I think. But I'm growing with CFLs, so I can't really add much to your question about powerful 600w+ lamps.

    First grow-- CFL's

Any new pics? Trust me, you will regret ever wishing it taller once you switch to 12/12. With CFLs, plant height is our enemy. Shorter & stockier the better, unless you're doing a ScrOG like I am right now.

200w+ CFL scrog in the attic

Just a quick photo dump update. Due to unexpected circumstances, I'm going to need to break down my grow and move into a different house in a month or so, so I've taken my mother plant and her largest clone out into the woods deep in a national forest. Here's to hoping they do okay! I will be...

Yellowish spots on some (but not all) leaves

So it doesn't seem to be improving noticeably, and might be getting slightly worse. For example, this is the first leaf with the spots I've seen that's this close to the buds: Also, this is a leaf I just clipped from deep within the canopy (possibly a hot spot with minimal air flow?): The...

    Weekly precipitation resource online?

So I planted a couple plants guerrilla-style over the weekend, deep in a national forest. The locations are about a 2 hour drive from where I live, so I'd like to minimize the number of times I have to visit, especially for watering purposes. Keeping track of rainfall would help this, but the...

230W CFL - Fruity Chronic Juice - SCROG

Those upper leaves look waterlogged to me, so I'd say let it go almost a week without watering, you won't regret it.

I assume these wasps are predatory and thus beneficial?

Much like the spider, they seem to feast on whatever flying insects get into my attic (where the grow box is) and then are attracted to the glow emanating from the air intake holes. So mostly small flies and/or moths. I've seen some gnats too, but nothing too infestation-like.
