'09 NY outdoor grow arjan's haze #3

Hey everyone. Got 7 ladies that are about 10 weeks old. Started indoors, moved outside about a week or 2 ago.

Just dug some holes, filled them with about 15 gallons of soil and put the plants in. They seem to have already responded and have started new growth.

No idea how to use these nutes because I always have had nute issues.

I have botanicare pure blend pro grow, and bloom. Not sure how much or how often to feed. using creek water to water them.

soil: 50% FFOF, 50% promix with mycorise

I also want to train them to be low profile because they could get noticed, guessing that they will be triple the size at the end.

I just bent a few of them all the way over so they are sideways. I'll see how they respond after a week of it.

I'll take more pictures next time too, I heard a dog yonder so I decided to call it a day.

Hmm an update, if anyone is actually reading haha i know there are a million threads on this forum.

Anyway, I went back and tied every plant down by tying some twine about 3/4 of the way up the stalk, and bent them over until the tops were about 6 inches from the ground.

Now I am glad I did that because 2 unsettling things have happened.
1. I found some dog feces very close to the area
2. I was told that the police dept is about to do a search all over the area with a helicopter and that they do it twice in the season. Now I know what happened to my last grow, which was in pots all clumped together, totally visible from the air.

Now, the problem is, the area i grow in does have shrubs but is grassy and when i was digging holes and planting it was impossible to avoid making a trail. The trail is still there, it looks like just flattened down grass.

Surely if the heli looks at that area they will see the trails which will lead to the plants. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to cover up trails of flattened grass? my only idea so far is to use a garden rake to pluck up the grass strands. It has rained the whole week so I hope that changes things a little.

Your site looks good man. your plants actually blend in with the landscape. I started an outdoor grow a few days ago but i have only 4 plants and they are spread out by about a mile.

Ok so, I don't know, I just don't like what I saw today. I went back early this morning around 9 am, it's been 5 or 6 days.
Bad news first: I saw some dogshit RIGHT next to one of the plants.
It is now clear that if there is an owner with the dog, he has obviously seen one plant at the least. OR an owner from a house nearby just lets the dog loose and calls it back in or something. I don't know I'm being paranoid but.. the owner letting the dog shit right next to a plant could be a warning of some sort; like 'hey whoever is doing this, i know, and you will get busted if you keep it going.
Or the cops could have been informed by the owner and they will set up cameras, in that case I suppose I may have been caught on camera already.

The only good news: the surrounding foliage has really started growing and any tracks have started to be more covered. The only thing that makes me worry about the copters is a circle of dead grass around about 3 of them, from me standing and digging a hole, hopefully it'll heal up.
Oh and they are alive. The best hidden one is the healthiest too. I'll be happy if all i get is that one, which would still probably get 4 ounces at least.

So, regardless, it is obviously not a secure location. I need a plan, this is what I have thought of so far:
I go at night, and have something to conceal my identity if there is indeed a camera, and take clones. Then plant the clones in a new , secure location, not close to the current one. Then pretty much almost never visit the old spot except by looking with binoculars from afar to see what's changed.

Well its been about 3 weeks. I went back to take clones, and found that 2 of them have been flowering. But the buds just do not look right. I judge they have been flowering for about 4 weeks, but there were slugs all over them and the buds look like they are mostly eaten, very sparse and airy. The spot gets sunlight all day so it must be bugs. I sprayed all the plants with an all in one garden spray with .01% neem, and will put out containers of beer for the slugs to climb into and die. Any other conjectures on what is happening to my buds?

All the other plants are quite healthy, the first picture is after we tied down all the big branches (were about 5 ft high), hoping to make a bush out of it.
The last 3 pictures are to show the bud damage. from farther away it looks like little colas, but up close it is very sparse plant material, like they have been eaten or something. They are shiny because I just sprayed them

I also went back and put three half full beer cans around both flowering plants. Anyone ever have success killing slugs with beer in the can?

next year wait till at least may 1st. Thats why they are flowering already. I have even had many plants flower when put out in april also. May 1 - 14 is the earliest for your location. I have grown very close to ny. Right next door.

well, its mid september and I just visited my plants for the first time in a month or more. The lush green plants turned either dead brown or half dead brown. There is one with three monster branches, but barely any foliage. I will show pictures in the next few days when I go back.
One is doing well, it is in the shade more than any others and the soil is more fertile there.

So I'm concerned with 2 things:How to get them lush again, and figure out why I only have pistils when as far as I heard flowering starts mid august in NY, I should be 4 weeks into flowering I was expecting bud formation.

It's up to the nutrients and the weather I suppose,
But I would appreciate any advice on how to feed these babies for the remainder of the season?

Well you get what you put in. Not visiting that patch for a month? Actually surprised one is alive. There is always next season so at the very least it was a learning experience. Hope to see giving a go round again next year. I know how hard guerilla growing can be, this season was pretty tough for me also. I go out once a week during summer months and this time of year at least 2-3 times per week.

Now is a good time to start scouting for better areas. More areas and more plants means casualties will hurt less. I also use pro-mix. Check out my grow this year, maybe I can help you be more successful for next year. I also scout in the winter time after there is snow on the ground. I like to see if there is any atv, snowmobile or foot traffic in the nearby area. I set up all kinds of trips every where to check on traffic during the growing season. They might, I'm not saying they won't. I'm not there so I can't tell you, ya know.
