1,5,7 leaf blades.

Probably more common to see a 1,3,5,7...progression but certainly not unusual and varies by strain.

I've never seen single bladed leaves, don't even see it in your pix, but I'm on my phone and pix are teeny tiny..
Anyhoos, the number of.blades usually is a sign of.maturity .. the more the plant has, the more mature, but only to a certain extent..
Genetics plays a large role as well as some strains will only show say 5 blades, despite the age and.maturity of the plant.. the.most I've seen have been 13 blades on dna's sour cream I think it was..

But to answer your question, no, number of blades is pretty meaningless other than cool to look at.. :):)

Those are first 'true leaves'. They don't count. They always come up as individuals ;)

fwiw, my stable Chemdawg strain never grows more than five fingers per fan leaf, no matter how long I grow it for. In fact, I don't need to label it with my other strains, because it consistently grows 3 finger fans for the first 2-3 nodes, then goes off and starts shooting 5.

I get singles a lot on account of cloning flowering bottoms.....nothing to worry about some strains throw em.

In your case Rex it just appears to be the first true leaf set.

lol, not in this context ;)

Well if we're talking context and what not, OP did say first node, then second node, etc. To which racer said he'd never seen it. True leaves are part of the first 'node' as far as OP is concerned.
And what OP says goes!!

Right??

And stop winking at me. Youre giving me a vibrating feeling in my guttiwuts.

I don't worry so much about the leaves on the bottom of the plant. I keep an eye on new growth and see what is happening there. You can't fix old leaves , so I pay attention to what the new growth tells me.

The new growth was seven leaves. I don't know if it will have more on the next spurt. I just wasn't sure if maybe the plant was trying to tell me something.

Here is the new seven bladed leaves. Do you think the number of blades will keep increasing? Does that have anything to do with how the plants photosynthesize?
