Hi, am new to this, and i don't understand the difference between CFLs, halide etc...
I am planning to grow one plant for my own consumption [each time it is over a new plant shall be planted].
Anyways, i was trying to figure out what kind of lamp i can use.
The place i am growing is by my window side, since i live in a tropical country i get a minimum of 3 hours great direct sunlight from that window.
I was thinking that i would use an artificial light after that 3 hours. And I only have 500W (and below) halogen lamps.
Keeping in mind that i can't make the electricity bill appear suspicious, do you think a 500W halogen lamp is enough, if yes, can i get any halogen lamp with lower wattage [to save myself from detection of the bill].
Also, after that 6 hours of light period, i usually have a power saving 25W fluorescent lamp that lights up the place for around 4 more hours. Would these light changes cause the problem to the plant???
