1 week plants...1st grow. are they looking good?

Okay so this is my first grow so be nice =]. My plants are about 1 week since they sprouted ( 8 days) Do they look about where they should be? I would love any tips from someone whos been doing this awhile =] sorry about the pic quality, i only had my camera phone =]

p.s. I have them under 2, 150w grow lights from the plant nursery and a couple daylight bulbs. Is it bad to mix bulbs?

they look fine, stretching a little but fine . How close are the bulbs to the plant tops?

They are about 10 inches away right now.Tonight im going to modify my closet lol, and put them like 4 inches away with a fan across the top. Do you recommend a cycle of 18 light and 6 dark?

Also, what are some cheap bulbs that work well? I cant spend that much cash seeing how i live in hawaii and bud prices are crazy here so i gotta buy bud until my plants hopefully grow =]

Im not super expert or anything, but im using 2 27W (100W) CFLS and 2 13W (60W) CFLS for 1 plant.. which is growing just fine..

My lights are also about 2 1/2 Inchs from my plant..

I got.. 4 60W / 2 100W CFLS for like.. 12-15$

put them as close as you can without burning them. put your hand between the bulb and plant and if it does'nt burn your hand it won't burn your plant. Cheap bulbs for indoor ? CFL's work OK and screw right into a regular light socket with no modifications. But HID'S work much better

get those lights closer 1-2 inches from the tops of the plants to prevent stretching nothing wrong with the mixing in the daylight lights with your "grow lights" if anything your plants will thank you for it at this stage in their growth. later on your gonna wanna switch the day light cfl;s out for some soft white ones though thats if your going with cfl's for your flowering too

Hey this morning i noticed that some of my leaves are kinda dry at the tips...anyone maybe know why? I dont think its from fertilizer cuz i havent used any in a few days?

Hi Heather. Couple of things:

First, it usually takes 3 days for any changes to take afffect. Meaning if you fed 3 days ago and you see burn today, you overfed. Second, What kind of soil is that? If the dirt has any nutes in it alreay you do not have to give it anything but water until it starts showing signs of hunger (light green on lowers).

I hope this helps.

It could be either this ^ Or if its your first set of "Rounded" Leaves you see when it just sprouts.. Those will die.. Think of them as Baby Teeth.. I think the same applies for the 2nd set of leaves aswell.. They arnt Rounded, More pointy... but it will only be One leaf each.. Not a Set of Star leaves..

The first to are "Baby Teeth" Leaves.

Plus that plant is a little young to be giving nutes.

if your talking about the round first set of leaves you originally saw when it first sprouted they are the cotyledon leaves and they will die off eventually reguardless all they do is feed your plant energy in initial growth so that your plant can grow its fan leaves the real deal basically

yeah you are right, it is the first leaves and a lil of the second=] thank you

The nutrients i gave them was just a super low dose of some seed sprouting stuff that says it makes the roots stronger. sorry lol I wasnt clear

You shouldn't be feeding them anything until they are about a month old and then only 1/4 strength.
