The commercial blacklight tubes are UVA as are those 400 watt HID blacklights used in disco's.
UVA has the same effect on the plants as actinic blue light. It will cause earlier oil production, reduced root growth, less stretch, and slower water use.
Blue is better than UVA for this as the plant can also use the blue for energy needs, UVA triggers the effects but does not feed the plant while doing so.
UVB triggers unique chemical interactions not duplicated by other wavelengths. Low dose UVB gave the same results as high dose UVA. This test was a success as I got effects from UVB otherwise unobtainable.
Not what I wanted though, this is sleeper bud, guaranteed to put you out. I smoke early harvest sativa just to avoid the sleepies. Dang.
