10,000k Bulbs.

Hey guys, I'm attempting a small grow. It's for a buddy who said "Hey man, throw these in that terrarium thing, and see if they grow"

So here I am. 1 week into planting. Germinated for about 3 days. My plant has a very tall stem, 2 round leaves, and 2 triangular "weed" looking leaves.

I have my plants under 1 10,000k bulb, used for aquariums plants, and corals. and also a 6500k bulb.

It's been a week, it's about 3.5 inches tall.

Any comments, or suggestions? Their substrate is peatmoss, firbark, with hydroton under that, and pea gravel under that, for drainage. It was used for my tropical plant's grow out tank, before I move them to my bigger tank, it's worked fine for that so I figured what the hell.

comments, and feedback is always suggested.

I hate to say it man but i really dont think that 10,000k bulb is doing much, its way up in the blue spectrum. The 6500k is perfect.

yeah ditch that 10,000k bulb and get another 6500k or lower. I used one before I ended up witht he weakest buds Ive ever grown.

Well the stems are massive, my digital cammera shit the bed. The stems are like 4 inches, leaves are comming in well. But I'm only going to keep 2 baby plants. They're in my tank with 1 4 foot 6500k bulb and 1 4 foot 6700k bulb.

these are materials that have helped me understand lighting a little more.....as you can see there are "sweet" spots in the spectrum cruve....and you can see where your 10k light sits.....not that it would work....but the results might not be what you expect.

i thought blue spectrum for veg would b the best most MH bulb is around 10k 12k 20k
and HPS bulbs red

i bought a MH400 system i asked for a 6k bulb but it came wit a m59 12k bulb
i seen that all the mh bulbs are 10k 14k 20k i only pretend on veging with the mh and flo. with a hps should i veg and flo with the hps?should i replace the mh bulb?wat kinda bulb?

Lamafia, you sure you are not thinking of candles? As in this light has the power of 15,000 candles.

Heck I do not know much about why certain lights work. I just know that I can use a t-5 and some cfls to start my plants on, and MH is good for vegging, and then I switch to HPS for flowering. Other then that I have no idea. But I always thought blue was about 6K, and red was about 3K

Learn something new everyday. I have never used an MH. Do you find the plants veg much better under the MH than under HPS?

Most of the 10K and up I've seen have been aquarium lights. Most of the hydro shops I've been in have bulbs in the 4k-6k range.

Thats what i had thought. Every bit of info i have seen says that cannabis doesnt use light up in those Kelvins. Its not natural light from the sun. Maybe if your trying to imitate several meters of water to stimulate coral growth you would need that spectrum. But i am very sure cannabis will not take in 10 000k light.
