10,000k rated light question

Ok so I tried asking this in another thread but no one responded so i thought I would ask here. I found a T8 light that is...

Watts = 15w
Length - 18"
K rating = 10,000k

Now my question is can I get away using 10,000k rated light for growing plants in veg?

Yes but it is a limiting factor. It's probably about the same as growing on a window sill.

It would be good for cloning or a veg room of 1 sq/ft.

Well there is no window sills in this place. Also how is it a limiting factor? How good would it be for growing carrots and cactus?

Yes and no. I've used 1 13w CFL to cover a 2' x 2' area before and I only need light for my basils, mints and other leafy veggies. Might try with carrots though

Yep. Works. Carrots need very little. Been doing them in 5gal buckets of sand.

...yeah man, that large K denotes the Kelvin temperature range which is more about color frequency than physical temperature which is why it can be confusing.

anyway, the way the scale works is the higher the number the bluer the light and 10,000K is VERY blue and so would not be a good light to use by itself, as a supplement it has a purpose but it should not be used alone.

...one 13watt fluoro won't do crap anyway so you'll need more light to grow anything anyway.

fuck no. only use 10k lamps to finish, so your harvest has a week left , you place the 10k on them to get extra shiny. if you try to use 10k plants to grow. you will grow moss possible mold. the plants wont see any thing over 7500k

I'm not growing mj under then so there is no finish time, there is no 1 week left or any thing like that. This Gardening section is for non mj related growing.
