10/14 light schedule.

That would be interesting to see......how dark can you go without effecting yield. 10/14, 8/16, 6/18? What's the breaking point? Does it depend on strain? 4/20? Ha! That would be cool! I even made myself laugh at that one! Time to retire.
I've read that someone testing the limits said bud yeild was Greatly effected with less light.

Another fella said that going to 14/10 last 2 weeks increased THC.

Could be BS and most everything's been tried with growing. Just gotta find the data.

I can chime in on this as ive seen an indoor guru accidentally show us kids when we were younger this secret, basicly what were doing is following the same light patterns in nature(seasonal differances) and our cannabis reacts accordingly. For example i have been veggin my kush plants on 20/4 for 2 months trying to see if this new plantmaxx bulb was everything i was promised it would be, Seems fine so far(i use dual spectrum mh and hps) 1000 watts of hps/mh 400 mh /600 hps kooltube, ideally id like to follow the OP's lead here and gradually over time stagger the lighting schedule to accomidate increased resin, growth, etc. I have actually seen the results of this in another persons grow and was really excited. So i wanna try (when my flowering cycle starts) to give them 14 on and 10 off to start my flower cycle then the gradual changes can begin as i see the ladies responding accordingly, i hope that made sense.

Every time I've cut down light cycles I notice a huge drop in production, an as far as harvesting half a plant. That causes alot of stress on the plant an will cause it to stop gainz on the plant. Almost freezing the cycle.

Most I'd ever do is start at 14 10 an decrease a half hour every 2 weeks until down to 12 12 that seems most natural to me.

Ok, a little off topic sorta of, but I have been watching the thread and trying to learn as I go... If light schedules are adjusted, say we do the 14/10 and make it to 10/14 .... would we still put them in 24/48 hours of total darkness to trigger the switch before starting the flower light schedule? I also read somewhere in one of the many threads here I believe, that before harvest, leave them in darkness for 24 hours to boost trichomes?

There would be no point in doing 14/10 because they won't flower at all with 14 hrs light. You'd have to start with 13/11. Something like 13/11 for the first two weeks then 12/12 for the next two, then 11/13 and finally 10/14 until ripe. Then to boost overall weight and resin, three days of 24 hr light followed by 24 hrs darkness to burn off all the starches built up by the constant light. Then it's choppin time.

11/13 this whole year. Yield seems to visually have gone down but not sure as i dont give a crap, just want faster flowers for faster smoke LOL they definetly finish 1-3 weeks faster every time!

Edit*
I've got hawaiian sativa beans from equator sativas. They will veg forever at even 13/11 hell even 12/12 takes them 2-4 weeks to flower.
When i actually buy strains though that are not given/gifted to me, i get comitted.
Week 1-3 metal halide OR hortilux blue if indica's 13/11
Week 4-7 HPS 12/12
Week 8+ hortilux Blue 11/13

Bob, may i ask what 3 days of light is doing? I understand it is far to late to even stress the plant already. Is the plant just simply recplacing trichomes that have been degraded by light? Would that bring out more clear or cloudy trichomes?

To be honest, it's purely theortical. I figure why not? They can't get unripe after they're ripe and leaf growth won't start back up for at least a week of constant light. In theory, it should pack on an extra bit of weight and resin production. I'll test it out myself actually.
