Ok guys so I've been growing in soil and I just ordered a biodiesel mass autoflower and I wanna give her a run in hydro!

so I have myself a little 5 gallon DWC system and the only thing I'm confused about is the size of this net pot...... it's humongous and if I'm trying to put in my tiny little early stage seedling how am I gonna get it in there?

from what I understand the roots need to hang an inch or so above the water so it gets splashed on but if my roots are only like 1/2 inch long does that mean I have to stick my plant all the way down in this thing? like what? lol i think I'm just gonna get a little 6 or 4 inch net pot lid so I don't have to worry about that. but could someone please explain how I would go about this?

but wouldn't my plant be sitting down 6 inches into the pot in the bottom since my roots are so small?

dont worry the root will grow into the water very quickly, just fill ur net with hydroton and put ur seedling in it, you should wet the rockwool or whatever ur seedling is in to hold it over until the root grows down, but dont worry to much thirsty roots grow quick

So ok I should fill up the hydroton about half way, and then put my seedling in there once it gets about how big? then just keep the medium wet until it grows into the water?
