i just wanna get my garden started with somthing simple and low maintenance like a basic drip irrigation system in my veg room and an ebb & flow system in my flower room. im not really interested in the SOG technique just yet. im aiming for 1/4 lb per plant to start off

So, you have that 12'x12' room and you want to set it up to have a place for mothers, clones, vegging, and flower? Is this correct? You want your flower room to be roughly 6'x8'? How tall is the room? Are you going to build spaces or just buy tents? When you say ebb & flow you mean flood tables or the buckets? Let me know and I can help you design it.

You mean his Electricity bill will be around 4x 1KW/H = 4KW/H x12 = 48 KW/H / Day @ .9 c / Kw/H translating into.... $4.50 / day...... P.S: you dont need A/C or Co2.....

Not sure where you get your hydo supplies, but for 4 1000's it'll cost roughly $2316 for ballasts, aircooled hoods, and lamps, not including the inline, another what, $250. Add a $1000 hydro system, a $800 ac, co2 tank, regulartor, auto controller, 60 to 80 lb carbon scrubber with another big inline, all the ducting, having a dedicated ballast jumper on a dedicated 30 amp line, which you need, having dedicated 20 amp lines installed for all other equipment, the list is endless, and we're still just in the flowering room. sorry, but this is expensive, I should know. I'm not an outdoor cali grower bro.

He's gonna need so much stuff it's crazy. I had to have a full sized van packed and a suv to move my shit......come on and be realistic. If you want a sealed room, and not some bug filled moldy, stinky ass room it costs big money.

His seeds will be hundreds just to get started.....oh yea, he's going to need nursery equipment, T5's, clone machine, seperate nursery built into the area, man I can go on and on.

I just hate to see someone ask a question who starts out first time grower think this is a joke, and it isn't.

Just think how much it'll cost to have a electrician come and wire it for him!

$2000 to set up a 4Kw Flowering room. $1000 to set up a 1Kw Mother plant/ Clone room. $250 on seeds (bought me 5 strains, fem)..... im currently growing in an 12x12 Flowering room, 4x4 Mother room and a 4x4 Clone tent......total cost: under $5000.

.... yes actually, you can learn to grow 1/4 Lb (4 OZ's) from a plant in one grow..... this forum has taught MANY people to do that..... heres a good example:https://www.rollitup.org/indoor-growing/208597-gypsys-first-tree-attempt.html GypsyBush harvested "just over 1 kg total from those ladies..." She was using the same method this grower wants to use, Ebb & Flow.... and she only grew 3 plants.

Phillip I'm not a hateful person at all. I'm very passionate at what I do, and really care. A friend I know dropped $20k on a big grow, his first, and he pulled 3 shitty pounds out of it, I get 6 on half of his gear. He's lost his ass, and should have asked for help, the right help, right away, before it was too late.

also...let say you want some quality with those lights. For 4 1000W Lumatek switchable ballasts, 4 6" air cooled reflectors...and 4 digilux bulbs...still only comes to 1575.

a HPS light is a HPS light, there realy is no differance between the 2 lights when you take into account what they actualy ARE. they are a glass tube, filled with a specific gas (Sodium in this case) with a filiment in the middle of the glass tubing. when electricity arc's through the filiment, it causes the electrons to change their speed and split into 2 photons of light......

im not the one who came on here and told some new member a whole shitload of bad information, am I?

through the whole argument i've actually been supplying him with information, lighting sources, information on how my grow functions so that he can compaire how he is going to build his grow.... im not the one who's waving his wang around trying to tell some new member bad information.... im doing what this forum is here to do.....

All that stuff is based on the floorplan below. I added nothing but the MOST EXPENSIVE stuff in every category and bought more than I needed. All you would have to add is a/c, dehumidifier, and construction. If you shopped that around and didn't buy the most expensive you would get 60% of that total. How do you come up with $10k? Have you ever built a room before? Doesn't sound like it.

With construction and buying quality equipment where needed you are more likely looking at $4,000-$7,000 for a GREAT system. Depends a little on your a/c and dehumidifier needs. Electrical won't cost more than a few hundred dollars if you have the service in your house already.

I am not going to get in this pissing match but I will just say two things.

1. That grow gear in the e-bay links is complete trash. Cheap, unreliable garbage with low performance numbers. Any douch can bend some aluminum over a tube and call it a cool tube..in fact, they did...

2. A grow room will ALWAYS cost you more than you think. ALWAYS.

I would skip the co2 for now as your probably not skilled enough to benefit from it anyway. That will chop about $800 from your cost.

I will agree that I would never buy equipment from ebay. When your neighbors cable doesnt work because the digital ballast you buy from china isnt sheilded...you'll get some unwanted attention. Remeber...you always get what you pay for.

I've NEVER bought any grow equipment of eBay. Especially none of that Made in China generic crap. You are just asking for trouble.
