I found 2 seeds in my old jewelry box that has to be at least 10 years old. What do you think the chances are they will sprout? I'm trying just for the nostalgia.
take an emery board like you would use for your nails and GENTLY GENTLY GENTLY rough up the husk of the seed. The main reason seeds become unviable is that the husk hardens to the point where water cant penetrate it to start the germ process the roughing of the husk basically (i call it a glaze imagine a donut and you want to get to the doughy part without penetrating the crust underneath the glaze) allows you to remove the glazing from it sitting for years and it softens it up enough to draw in water. Still it may not work but thats your best bet usually for really old seeds.I found 2 seeds in my old jewelry box that has to be at least 10 years old.
