100 watt incandescent?

I wish you lived closer so you could see where we want to build the grow room. I need help, for some reason I'm finding myself overwhelmed by all the possibilities. Corals are not this difficult, relatively narrow range, tropical waters so we want tropical sun intensity, no red spectra needed.

That doesn't say anything about yours being right. That was a nice way of saying that there is no evidence to support your opinion. Chill out, dude.

What I mean is that while UVB may increase THC if added to a particular spectrum, that doesn't mean that one spectrum with more UVB gives better results than another without.

For example, how about if you compared HPS to UVB alone? Obviously HPS would be better. It's just not a logical conclusion that just because it has more UVB that it is better.

For chrissake, can't anyone be wrong (or not completely right) on this forum without pitching a fit or throwing a tantrum?
Tantrum? Wtf are you talking about?
Bottom line MH puts out uvb light, I am not talking about spectrum with the MH. If I was I would talk about blue light helping produce stronger veg growth.
As I said before, the best depends on your goals. HPS (spectrum) produces more yeild in the flowering stage, and has a higher lumen per watt output. MH is for strong veg growth and happens to have UVB light that in the flowering stage will produce higher THC. HPS multispectrum bulbs do not have this UVB.

You missed my point. The logic you use above would predict UVB alone would produce better buds than HPS.

UVB does not exist alone, it has to have a source. Comparing UVB to HPS is like comparing a microwave to the food it cooks.

MH will produce buds with more THC than HPS

HPS will produce more buds than MH

MH will promote strong veg growth

HPS has more lumens per watt

These are all Facts everyday all the time

Again what is "BETTER" depends on your goals

No, comparing UVB to HPS is like ... comparing two different light spectra. You can get a UV light, just like you can get an HPS light.

MH will produce buds with more THC than HPS
This is the fact I was contesting in the first place. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills here. This is not a widely accepted fact in the community.

I believe that to be true as well. I think the mh produces tighter nugs with more thc. The hps blows up the buds more. Just whatever is in your taste i guess. But i do think it is true

yeah, I am only going by what i have seen. There may have been other factors i was unaware of. But try it and tell us what happens.

Alright we are cool like that but I want to say one more thing real quick.

HPS is high presure sodium. It is a light source not a spectrum. It happens to put out an orange spectrum.

UVB is a spectrum. It can be created by multipule sources ie CFL/ MH, flourcent tubes.

You can not create HPS from multuple sources, it is the source. However you can create the orange spectrum from other sources

So I ask serious questions about my first time grow, and this is where all the responses go? Fake & lame ass questions!!!
cmon guys we are here to grow and learn not answer this bull shit.
Oh! just so you know bud grows best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! under a HID lamp.

Ok, that's just dumb. It grows best under the thing in evolved to utilize--the sun. :-P

I have come to realize from internet forums that intelligence is inversely proportional to the number of punctuation marks you use in a row, to the power of the grammatical rules you break by their insertion.

I = k / (# of !'s, ?'s, etc.)^(broken rules)

where k is an empirically determined constant.

 Write a paper on it and you, too, may earn an Ig Nobel Prize.
