$1000 dwc budget need info plz

Looking to start my first hydroponics grow but have no idea what I'm doing in regards to hydroponics, I've done one soil grow with a decent yeild but heard a lot of good things about dwc.
I was looking at waterfarm and root spa systems on amazon but was thinking I could build it instead of paying for a name brand.
My overall goal is to use my 1000W hps in a 8x8 room and produce at least 1lb per plant if not more.
I am very invested in my grow and will give it all attention it needs and throw money at it if I need to, I just want a huge yeild with TOP quality medicine.

12 gal hdx totes from home depot (x4) with 6" netpot lids = $45
Good air pump and set of 8 disposable air stones=$100-120
Bluelab combo,meter=$200
25lb bag 5-12-26 from jacks=$50
5lb bag MKP haifa is a good brand = $10
25lb bag calcium nitrate yaraliva is a good brand=$20
Bag of hydroton = $25
Bluelab calibration 4.0 and 7.0 500ml bottles and a small bottle of KCl for pH probe storage=$35

Check out my DIY scrog screen. They are designed to make a 4x4 for a 600w. Id do a 5x5 or even a 6x6 with a 1000w.

You already got a light and space.

A good starting feed for you would be 3g/gal 5-12-26 and 2g/gal calcium nitrate full strength and then see how they react.

A good idea is to get a 55gal blue food grade poly drum for mixing nutrients for top offs and res changes. This will make your life easier. A water line in the room helps a lot as well as a mop sink.

Mix up a batch every 2 weeks. Each 12 gal container will hold 6 gal of water depending on netpot depth. Thats 24 gal. A plant in flower can drink a gal a day so 14 days thats an additional 40 or so gallons.

Those nutrients will,keep you growing for years.

Keep pH between 5.5 and 6.1

For your first foray into hydro I would steer you away from DWC and advise coco. It's FAR more forgiving than DWC and produces just as much and is hydroponic. I started last year with DWC after a 35 year grow hiatus. I have a degree in water treatment engineering - tons of bio, chem - you name it. I nearly lost my whole first crop to root rot. Now I do DWC, RDWC and coco - switching to more coco now.

DWC is like being given an Indy 500 car - you can probably make it go, but it won't go turbo until you really know how to get it dialed in. Coco will allow you to go turbo as soon as you get in the driver's seat

I started dwc and while it was a learning curve im glad I went that way.

Its actually easy. And its mostly automated counterpart rdwc is made so much easier once you learn dwc.

Hey thanks for the reply, considering this is my first grow I'm going to finish my current groe and maybe do one more before I start hydro... I was convinced it's probably to much work for a beginner.
Next grow I'm probably going rockwol cubes into soil with scrog.
In the new year I'll try your idea out for sure.. just don't want to get overwhelmed
