hi im growing 14 plants in a 2800mmx2800mm room , a friend told me to just use a 1000 watt hps light would be just the same as 2x 600

to me it makes sense the 2x 600 what hps would cover more room have more direct lighting even spaced on all the plants would i be right ?

Depending on the hood you could probably get away with 1 1000, i.e. spend more on your setup. I have 2 400s and wish I would have spent a little more bc 1 1000 will pull less electricity then 2 600s or 400s for that matter bc its not just about the bulbs usage but also the ballast usage. Its what ever you want to do but I have had probelms with blowing breakers in my bathrooms with 2, which can also mess up your cycle, word of warning!

Two 600's would definitely pull more than one 1k watt. Two 400's would be close to 1k watts. As far as you blowing the breaker, you have to make sure your amp draw isn't more than that circuit breakers max. I believe you don't want to pull more than 80% of the circuits rated amps.
