1000 lumatek air cooled?

Has anyone use it? it is the wider Verizon with a fan I'm jw if its a good buy or if I should get the regular lumtak 1000 watt ballast thanks in advance and plus rep for ur opinion

the new lums are badass, Have a buddy using about 20 of them. get the new one if you can, it runs around 15 degrees cooler than the old model

Awesome ballast looks like a car amp and really preform's....I use a 32" square hood with coolthru and 470 cfm fan to remove 85% of the heat generated by that 1000watter I Think the newer bulb's preform better but dish out more heat! With the big hood, you don't make as much heat due to less reflection...but penetration loss is substantial...3 foot with focused hood but only 12 inches...good for scrog or sog not 30" plant's though without alot of training! They are really improving the ballast's and light's! Hope this help's my brother! jack........great buy!

I ran across a few places selling these. The Lumatek Air Cooled Dial A Watt Dimmable LK1000ac model. I'm I reading the spec correct that I can use it with a 400w, 600w or 1000w HPS bulb?

I have an enclosed hood I would like to switch to, but my current ballast is all hard wired together. This would be great is I could use this and my new hood, use up all my old 400w bulbs, then upgrade to 600watts and someday 1000watts.

sweeet just bought one online last night.

thats going to be my next purchase too a nice dimable ballast altho my old jb ballasts are running cool as ice they just not dimable

I bought an external fan for my Lumatek....
I didn't know I needed one,
but it was purple and matched the ballast
and I like gadgets.

my lum 1000w without the fan turns off sometimes due to over heating. probably a factory defect really. i run a small fan on it now.
