I picked up a 1000 w hps reflector hood with cool tube, i got a 5' by 8' grow area, separate from veg area, got two inline fans with 6 inch duct pulling cool air in and hot air out thru dryer vents, ph is a perfect 5.8, fox farm soils and liquid nutes for flower... what are your thoughts on coco vs soil, im not getting the bud i was hoping for, got SD and bubble berry clones, i dont know what im doing wrong, i kinda want to switch to coco on the next grow, What are your thoughts, thanks guys

How long are you in veg? What method are you using? Switch to a two month veg and get double your yield ! LSt method works really well to get more tops..,= more yield . Keep temps low and lights at a good distance; you will get yields your looking for . Also might wanna research the strain your running and the source your getting it from. Try bluedream you will get some monster yields ...

Ok first off, your pH is perfect...for coco. You gotta bring that up a bit if you wanna stick with soil.

I used coco for my second grow and I loved it. The plant grows super fast, and when I had any problems they were remedied quickly (every watering is essentially a flush). My only qualm with coco is the amount of waterings/feedings per day. On one hand its very hard to overwater due to coco's minimal absorption properties, but on the other hand, its a bitch to water twice or three times a day to keep them from wilting. (I would go out partying for a day and come back to wilted babes). Its up to you but, if done right, I think its a tad superior to soil. Heres a pic of my first coco grow:

Oh and the most important thing in a grow, if all else is equal, is genetics.

You can do everything right, but a shitty strain is a shitty strain.
