hey all i have been juggling wattages for a couple weeks now and i have finally settled on a 1000watt nextgen switchable with a great white air cooled reflector and hortilux super hps bulb.( i got an insane deal) im in a 4x4x6.5 tent with plenty of fans and ventilation.
this morning i checked them right before lights out and they looked a bit stressed. im in week 4 and some of the white hairs on the top are curling and turning reddish brown. i cant tell if this is normal reddening of the hairs or if ive singed the tips of them with too much heat or light? i was struggling with temps before i got this hood so it could have happens prior to this also. i have the light about 18" from the canopy and about 14" from a few of the tops. is this too close? are they getting too much light? my temps are between 82-85 when the light is on and perfect when they are off. i just watered/fed them last night at beginning of lights on.
i also have a 188cfm fan as an exhaust for the light. is this enough? this is my first time working with 1000watt lights so they make me nervous to some degree. any info would be greatly appreciated. everyone been telling me 1000w is perfect for a 4x4 (8-12 plants)
a guy told me a good way to keep tops from getting too hot is to bend them over almost pinching them to lay sideways. would this hurt the yield of the colas? is this a good idea?
how close are your 1000watts? what are your yields per watt? per plant? size of area?
i would love to hear from anyone using a 1000watt in a 4x4x6.5!
