So currently I’m watering my plants, they are mainly in 5L pots

I watered 15 plants with 10L of water however 9L of run off came out, which I collected from the sources and threw away. Am I doing something wrong?

my medium is coco and I watered them yesterday, around 24 hours ago

You don't need to water until runoff.

If you have given the plants ten litres and got nine litres of run off, that means your plants have only used 1 litre of water in the last 24hours.

Over watering is a big issue and is just as bad as under watering. It can, in some cases, be worse.

Coco has good run off so won't stay too sodden with water, however it also has good water retention. Without being able to dry out a little, you run the risk or root rot or pests, such as gnats.

You should use less water, as it doesn't make sense to waste as much as you are, and you don't want to over water.

If your plants are using 1 litre of water between 15, I'm guessing they are pretty young plants?

Basically my plants have had a few problmes so I was told to water them everyday.

I was under the impression coco was supposed to be watered until run off to stop salt build up?

Isn’t it hard to overwater coco?

To be honest I think they are a few months old all together but we’re vegged a cfl until I got them.

I’m just trying to make sure my plants get back healthy and green. Gotta love nice looking plants right.

So im running coco and figuring this out as well. My understanding is if you're getting that much runoff then your plants are just not drinking that much yet. It doesn't really hurt (hard to overwater in coco) but you're basically wasting nutrients and $. The standard rule most people tell you that I've found is 10-20% runoff, and greater frequency is better for growth. Maybe try (much) less overall volume and water twice a day if you can? (Not an expert lol)
Good luck!
