Hey all,

I’m really hoping to open this up hear about different potential layouts. I will be doing a sealed room running co2 in flower.

I’m getting back into it after couple year break. I’ve been running a 1k in my 10 foot by ten foot shed.

I feel like I could fully utilize this space and haul a couple elbows of primo head stash.

Here’s my proposed layout for a perpetual harvest cycle Given my constraints.

Why the seperate rooms for veg and mama?
Save a little space by making it one.
For a 4x8 tray in bloom, I would think a 3x6 tray would be plenty for the veg, including a couple mommas

Too much hallway in that set-up.

Sliding doors are key in small spaces.

I'd do this - keep the equipment/water or whatever in the same room as the veg room as it is the one with the most hours of light. Sliding doors, only 3 walls and almost no hallway outside of the rooms.

Thanks for the input everyone!

My main thought process behind having two separate rooms for veg and mums / clones was lighting height difference and potentially isolating any unwanted contamination’s ( pests and pm potentially ) as well as overal environment.

I was thinking the doors would actually be a huge pain to continually deal with as well and the door would eliminate usable space.

Thanks for the input ill continue to update my plan as it evolves.

For medium I really want to transition to hydro flood and drain but my only experience lies within the soil medium and that was 5 years ago.

Any useful threads and info ya’lol can share would be much appreciated. I’ve done some poking around and really enjoy all the abundant info and awesome people here!

I’m worried I won’t be able to retain a proper airtight seal to ensure my co2 isn’t being wasted. As it is right now I go through a 20lb co2 tank every 9 days which I think could be improved upon greatly.

Thanks again for the input! I can see the sliding doors potentially working for the veg area

I don't know shit about C02 in a grow environment other than I don't use it. Look for exterior sliding doors on craigslist and what not - sometimes you find good deals on open-box or construction overstock. Some of them come thermally sealed and about as airtight as any regular door.

Been doing lots of reading about co2 and imo I don’t think you even need it with the amount of plants or the amount of light. Even if your in a sealed room, your pulling air in from outside that has way more co2 than your plants will use. Good luck on what ever setup you go with, I am doing a redo of mine in couple months.

The idea behind CO2 is simple. The air contains about 400 PPM of CO2. Plants evolved back when CO2 levels in the atmosphere were much higher. If you increase CO2 levels to say 1250 PPM while also increasing light intensity, feed PPM and temperature the plants can grow faster and yield more. Temperature is key because the plants metabolic rate is somewhat governed by temperature.

Exactly. Thanks for taking the time to explain the many benefits! I think I’ll end up losing the walls for veg area and mothers to maximize space. Looking forward to seeing some updates you do to your room I’m slotted for summertime as well don’t wana deal with the AC nonsense.

I have a 10x10. I cut it in half or almost,I left a little space at the main door for mechanical/rezs.
I wish I would have made the flower much bigger,once your setup you dont need much for veg.Water can be stored on the floor,above that can be your veg clone area.Dont need mothers,clone 1~2 weeks after stretch in flower.
Pocket doors dont seal worth a shit,IME anyway.

Thanks for the input! I do need room for mother’s as I have 6 strains at all times. I can see how someone else wouldn’t necessarily need moms but for my use case I def need them.

How do you plan on keeping the moms?I plan on keeping some but just dont have space.
Im in hydro,was thinking coco since there food is the same.

I’m still deciding on what route, when I used to run perpetual back in the day I would just take bottoms from my current run.

I always somewhat hated this because it added another layer to worry about. Also I found that quality large cuts tend to do better overall rather than playing “catch” up with re veg and smaller lower branch cuttings.

I’m in coco and it’s proving to be pretty legit for my style. I’m in a 5 gallon bucket with my Sunset Sherbert mum and she’s getting large.

I’ll end up keeping 2/3 moms in 5 gallon buckets fed via drip

As for veg space I’m going to dial it down as I don’t need a ton of space for my style.

I used to run one 14,000 BTU unit in both of my separate 2k flower rooms back in the day.
Now a days I’ve been lucky enough to run my sealed room without AC and hitting the ground running on the night cycle / avoiding peak usage from PG&E.

I do vent in/out every 4 hours - 3 times I get totally fresh environmental air per light and dark cycle which helps offset any potential high temp issues. Again since I’m running Co2 I have my baseline temp directly under the lights set to 79.7 F
