If it's heated enough and the chlorine vaporizes, it might be enough to kill the plants
It's not. PVC is used for water lines, drinking water and 1000 other things. Fuck, are you a troll or just really fucking retarded? Do you know how many hydro systems are made by drilling holes into PVC pipe? Long term, PVC probably isn't the greatest shit for the environment, but short-term, it's great, because it's near-indestructible, relatively cheap, inorganic (no mold), holds up to water, can be cut with a saw, lightweight, bought anywhere... Show me one plant that died because of PVC and I'll show you one grower who doesn't know what killed his plant.

I think he's refering to a certain tent that was released a while back. People that were using these tents found that their plants were dying. It had something to do with the chemicals in the material being released when heated.

Anyway guys I also want to ask if the 6.5 ft tall ceiling would be a threat to having the ability to grow taller plants without burning the leaves, say 4 ft tall plants. Remember this is with two 1,000 watt cool tubes.

I'd say its worth it lol. This is a perfect model for what I want to shoot for. I have a few quick q's if you don't mind answering.

1. How much CFM are you exhaust/intake fans?

2. How many watts were you using? I think you said four 600's?

3. How tall are the ceilings? Any issues with heat? Those plants look pretty tall so i'm guessing the ceiling isn't too low for those who want to grow 4+ ft.

4. Any air cond?

Cant wait to build my own, you've just inspired me with extra motivation.

1) 700+ cfm in the tent there 8in vortex fans
2) 2400 in the tent
3) the tents are 78 in tall in the summer temps hit 82 no higher
4) no air con

I disagree with everybody. The zippers on my commercial bought grow tent are GOLDEN and I say a little prayer every time I touch one that they last forever.

Who the eff is gonna fix your zippers if they break? Do you know how to sew? Me neither.

Not to mention the killer purpose built vents and cord openings and intakes....

Guess you could velcro now that I think about it... LOL

Good luck

The question people should be asking you is are you in a permanet place like a house you own or are you renting?? If you have your own home then Building your groow space is a great idea... Its stronger, last longer, cheaper, can be more air tight, can be custom, can support things better like wall mounted fans and control panels and hanging vertal ballasts...Can mount A/c through the wall and heaters the list GOS ON AND ON......

However if you are NOT in a house that you own or you have to move alot then id say get a tent....they are stealthy , easy to set up, easy to take down, easy to sneak in a home, they are very convient, easy to clean have good reflections lots of ports..........I have TWO grows one at my apartment in a 4x4 tent and one at my parents house built from wood and studs with sheetrock and insulation.......... They are both good and both yield good results so like i said above its about your needs and which one lends it self to what you are trying to do......

make sense??

Sounds fair enough to me...even more motivation. I wouldn't mind just copying your setup lol. Btw your yield looks tremendous for only 2,400 watts.

I've been thinking the same way. Since I will only be renting the space it would make more sense to use a grow tent.

Velcro sounds like a great alternative.
