He mentioned he opened it up and didn't suspect bud rot. I had a similar experience, where it smelt the same as the colas around it but was just incredibly brittle. It's quite peculiar and I'd really like to know if anyone has definitive answers on the subject. It's not light burn, it's bud rot. When you pull it open you'll see what I mean. At least that's what it looks like to me. The other greener one is infected too by the looks of the wilted leaves. It's possible it just dried out but looks a lot like bud rot.
Oh, I guess I didn't read that part. Anyway, now he has pre-dried bud to smoke right away.He mentioned he opened it up and didn't suspect bud rot. So I'm on week 11 and have a super burnt main cola. I should have about 1 more week of flowering. I assume this is just garbage at this point? Chop it off and move on?
Do either of you recall any trauma to the cola prior to it drying out.I had a similar thing happen same exact circumstances. I wish I had a picture, it was one of the tops and only one. None of the rest of the plant was affected, same exact symptoms, brown and crispy. Didn't smell out of the ordinary to me. Very odd indeed.
I don't believe in my case, no. OP mentioned the stem was fine and I had a similar experience, however I thought the same as you at first. I too wish I had taken some pictures!Do either of you recall any trauma to the cola prior to it drying out.
I thought like others that the main stem may have been severed but the bud stayed in place. If it was severed would the lights cause it to dry up that way looking so brown?
It sure is interesting. Wish you had pics or a description of how the problem developed in the previous weeks.
I believe that picture was taken right before I watered. The "deadness" hasnt spread at all so I guess I'm in the clear? I plan on cutting this weekend or next. So I hope I don't die Ha.It's not light burn, it's bud rot. When you pull it open you'll see what I mean. At least that's what it looks like to me.
