12/05/06 aerogarden update with pics

Ok heres the update not much to say..... I think theyre looking lovely

Ive got some pics of the roots.....they look pretty brown in the pics more than real life but i wonder if this is a problem.....can any one explain ???

Its 3'7" as you can tell from the one pic...

i'm thinking at least 2 more weeks maybe as much as 4 untill harvest

My roots were brown...then red. I realized I had too much rust in my water. Now I'm filtering the water before I put it in (using a brita thing)..

Plant looks good. Know what kind it is??

No, not sure of the strain....although I believe one is more sativa dominant and the other is more indica...because they are both very different

very nice tek...very nice. are you still doing three? how much do you think youll get from each one? i figured it out and according to my areas standards i am growing 600 dollar an ounce bud. wow.

Lookin good my brotha! I think , as others have said, perhaps a bit longer than 2 more weeks..so maybe no budz for Christmas this year, but you'll have something to start the new year off with! Can't wait to read about how it tastes and smokes when it comes time to harvest!

How is it with the stinking ? Already my plants, just in vegative growth, are really skunky smelling, way beyond what I expected for this stage...so i'll have to think about investing some $$ in a filter system

You know its weird about the smell.....

I remember first smelling it only 2-3 weeks into veg...

And now it still smells but it doesnt seems as potent as it used to be.....But I think that maybe my nose has just gotten use to the smell...

I keep it in my bedroom closet....but it does emit a little odor...like when you open the closet door....but it is nothing that is extremely overwhelming..

I dunno.....Just a thought

Oh yea I should mention this.....I have found that if I take my 2 fingers and rub the main stem... and then smell my fingers.....WOW it is a very super strong almost gasoline smell with a bit of sweetness... its pretty cool

Ive wondered if the aerogarden is capable of lowering flowering times as well....

I think tho that it would mostly depend on the strain and the amount of light given to it....maybe even the nutes...

But I dont think it could shorten the flowering time by more than a week.....but I could be wrong...

In a word, no. Flowering time is genetic.

That said, there may be some evidence that doing this or that may shorten maturity by a few days. Using CO2 enrichment may shorten it a little. and a PK Boost in the first week of flowering may cause her to induce quicker, and using the aerogarden will make growers think they can change the world. :blsmoke:

So, in a word, no. Flowering time is genetic.

couldnt there be a way to fool the plant into thinking that winter is coming faster, not by using the aerogarden, but actually changing the genetics of the plant to fool it into seeing winter coming faster. this seems about as possible as anything, like reduce the flower time to about 5 weeks instead of 8-9. that would be amazing and i would totally buy that strain

Its like trying to make a baby grow into an adult faster than normal....

YOu'd have to really fuck with their genetics or pump em full of steroids theyre whole life....And if you did all this you'd probobly have an adult sized baby in a couple years but I'm willing to bet that that baby is going to be all fucked up and won't be any good....

yes yes, well i think i have this down to a science now of how i will be using this...with harvests of about 1-1.5 ozs(dry) every 2 months...

I saw the aerogarden on the Today show this morning and am very encouraged by the posts on this topic.

It seems that the lid on the aerogarden is pretty low. What happens when your plants get too tall for the garden? Is this a problem?

Truly a beautiful sight.
I just bought an Aerogarden and have 7 little ones germing (1.5-2 days)
Using gourmet herb nute pills. what nutes (and what strength) are you all using?

anyoneheard of "lowryder" bud?supposedly no real veg time/state. grows and flowers as it grows.
BS or what?
