16hrs dark period allows for longer growth and trichome production that only happens in the dark.
Also promotes root growth which feed all the new vegetative growth.

I didn't put any of this up to try to get people to change their minds about what they do or to tell people what they do sucks and what I do is bitchin.

There is nothing wrong with doing what works for you, and ovcorse your happy with your resulting product wich is the most important thing. I think its good when people think outside the box and are willing to experiment .
I'd be interested to know what strain or strains you usually grow, and if you usually work from just seeds or do you use cuttings ? I would also be interested in knowing if you have ever kept a mother plant. If so whats the longest time you have kept a mother plant going before flowering it ? Its a interesting subject to discuss. Thanks for any answers you give and also for being brave enough to share your method and ideas.

All plants are from cuttings.
This grow is Mac-1 CC.
Conventional grow is 270 plants.
24/0 for clones, 18/6 for veg and 12/12 for flower.
I have 26 mom's in a room all their own that stays lit 18/6.
Mothers on hand....
Mac-1
Peanut butter breath
Gmo cookies
Runtz
GG4
Blood diamond OG
Fruity pebbles
Powdered donuts
Venom OG
Oldest mom is Mac-1 @ 1yr 5mo.
When I eliminate a strain they go in the greenhouse to finish up.
I don't have any sort of time frame for how long I keep a mom and I don't flower them until they're up for elimination. I. E. Weak finishers, low yielders or no longer marketable...color, flavor smell, density, thc percentage and hash output are some other factors. Average thc percentage has been consistent at 26+ %.
Flower rooms run on 15, 1000w CMH.
