12/12 and 18/6

Ok so i have a grow box that has a veg. room and a flower room, but currently only have plants in the veg side, it seems like such a waist nothing in my flower room, would it hurt to do some seeds 12/12 till my veg plants are ready to flower then move 12/12's to the veg room with 18/6???

Good idea. If the change from 12/12 to 18/6 is reasonably gradual it should be okay...
Definitely worth trying imo
(Edit) The change may not have to be gradual...that's an educated guess!

The other question is can i use the same color lighting as 12/12 for the seedlings or do i need brighter lights?

I have about 800w worth of cfl's in my veg room that are all 6500k daylight lights. now for flower i was thinkin 600w all 2700k cfl. i get all my cfl lights free

Well, you're laughing then! Why less light for flower though? The ladies are going to get much bigger in flower..

for flowering you want 2700k bulbs, i believe it may be warm white but im not positive so dont quote me on it haha

You want more light in the flowering area. As far as starting some seeds in 12/12 you can definitely do it, but you may have space issues when the vegging plants are ready to move into flower.

I guess you could but not recommended. I would say run 2 veg rooms until ready to flower one set of plants? Makes sense to me. U can slow down veg and top and LST so wouldn't be as much of a problem.

id just change up the timer and have two 18/6 rooms, when your ready to flower, move the plants and put the new ones back into the veg room vs changing the times back and forth. might cause some stress.

i agree with above posts, just change your timers and then when your bigger plants are ready for flower switch the flower room back to 12/12 and toss the smaller ones in the vegg room. if you want to try 12/12 from seed i believe you should probally keep it that way throught the entire grow. if you revert the plants life cycle it can cause issues and scraggly growth.
