First I would like to say "hello" to all as I'm new to this forum...

Right down to business,

I have a growroom and I'm planning on using 1.5 x 1.5m (2.25m2) to do an experimental 12/12 grow... I gained my inspiration from reading Del's 12/12 thread.

Soil (Biobizz allmix)

15 cm (4.5l) pots

4 x apollo 12 led (approx 2000w with 1600w actual draw)

temp 26 day 20 night

dehumidifier to adjust humidity accordingly

Biobizz nutes

extraction system

fans for air circulation

strains will be high yielders that dont grow too high under 12/12 like northern lights, grapefruit, ultra skunk etc... basically cola's on sticks!!

My plan is to utilise the space by using 100, 15cm pots. they will fit perfectly into 2.25m2. The aim is to grow small plants with virtually no side branches and an extremely high bud to leaf ratio... like i said before, cola's on sticks.

I am interested on peoples opinions on whether 0.5 - 1oz per plant is a realistic yield. I am only interested in peoples opinions that have grown 12/12 before or grown many plants in small area... I appreciate the average grower may think I'm mad for even suggesting this!

I do not need any comments like "do you know how much work that will be?", "why don't you grow 25 in the same space instead of the 100?" or anything along those lines as I have a certain amount of growing experience and quite a good knowledge. I know it will be hard work!! And like I have said before, its just an experiment. (A pretty interesting one at that I think!).

I am only using soill as the grow medium as thats where my experience lies... I may change to coco if the general concenus is that I will get better results. My growroom will have optimal conditions and be more than saturated with light!! I shall also be giving the ladies the time and attention they deserve. I would also like to add that feeding/watering will not be a problem as they are on specially designed trays I can move about.

I appreciate any feedback or advice from those "in the know..."

fire away mate, iim in a small space at the moment so it'll be interesting to see, although i will say i'd personally go for the coco. i was an affirmed soil man myself then had a wee shot at dwc and now im on coco, its a better and more predictable medium than the other two.

I had a feeling that coco may be better from what I have read... I dont really know much about it though (research necessary!).. Is it just easier in general when it comes to the feeding schedule etc??

its not a million miles away from soil, it needs a more regular feed/water regime, you cant over water(well you could by maybe submersing it in the bath), no matter how much water you pour in it always retains oxygen, i heard it was 21% constant but i cant confirm that but i trust the source. u dont let it dry out like soil either. if you go for the canna range the coco and the nutes are specially made to achieve perfect ph without fucking around with up and down. also if u use the canna nutes its just one botlle of a and b all the way thru, no seperate veg or flower nutes, personally i use a pk13/14 once im halfway thru flower, im no expert on the stuff but from the last grow(s) and my current one i wont change back

Ahhh that sounds like it would suit me better. Especially as I'm using LEDs, it can be quite a while between feeds as they dont burn off the water like HPS lights. I've haerd good stuff about the pk 13/14 but I use Bigbud at the moment with good results for an extra booster. Food for thought already, I see some coco research coming on!

id considered leds myself at one ;point , even put a bid in on an e-bay auction , but ive just kept to my hps. when u said there a 2000 watt pulling 1600watt did you mean there burning 1600watts of energy? thats gonna be fuckin deadly on the power bills !

my whole set up costs about £2.50 a day on the electric. I changed to LED due to some serious heat issues (40c). 3 weeks into flower with my first grow using them. They doing the business and plants just look generally happier under them

that sounds pretty good, my 400 hps is using about £1.60 a day on 18/6. with the £ sign i assume your a brit?

nah mate, i always grew them full size but im changing as we speak. my area is around 3' x 4' and i had 4 normal plants, maybe a month from seedon the veg cycle and then into flower(first two week was under a small 2 x 55watt cfl) and they reached around 4' in height in 12litre tubs but i went out and bought a 60cm x 60 cm tray that would hold 9 smaller 7 litre tubs, so now i wanna see what they yeild, last yeild was a bout 2 oz a plant, nuthing special but not too bad. i wanna maximise my are so im just fucking around with a few ideas to see how they pan out.

have you read and of the 12-12 from seed thread by del66666?? thats where i have got my ideas from... he grows plants that just look like colas on sticks, virtually no branches and gets approx 3oz a plant in 11 weeks from seed... and they all on average about 2' tall!! seems like hes doing it the right way to me! im just wondering if it can be done on a more plants/slightly higher yield basis... check out the thread if you havnt already, its quite inspirational with lolads of great pics to back up what he says

i know del from the uk growers thread, ive been floating around in here for about 3 years now, i havent read the thread but i know quite a few other that swear by the 12/12 from seed method , its just kinda against what i'd always done, i always grew a good foundation by vegging for at least 4 weeks regularly 6 but im quite willing now to try new approaches. id previously grow in 1.2 mtre tents or larger areas.

if you can find him on any of your previous thread just go into the thread and hover the cursor over his name and you'll get the little hand pointer, click on it and itll let you into hios profile, you can message him from there, theres also a search mechanism but its a while since i used it and i seem to recall it was shitty.
