I have eight seedlings that just poped and my question is if i put them into my flower room under a 400w hps on 12/12 cycle, will it burn them or hurt them in anyway. Also when should i start nutes? im growing in rockwool with hydration. Ive flowered a few clones but never tried the 12/12 from seed. Any advise would be great thank:bigjoint:s

Yes, you can use the 400 on the seedlings, but you must be VERY careful with it or they will burn easy. Keep the light very high up. Can't help you with nutes, I use soil.

you'll need to keep them 2' from the lights to begin with and with rockwool you should fertilize when you start getting roots with 1\5th strengh.

note that you will get a much smaller yield from your plants. I'd do it only to test genetics.
also the flowering period will be longer by a few weeks than normal.

I would grow them out for eight weeks but last time I did that I got all males. Now on left with nothing to flower so instead of waiting for mothers to grow. I'll flower some in the 12/12 from seed while I wait for my new mother and her Clones. Just want to utilize my space, thanks for the replys

taking clones is faster.
in 10 days you get a plant with 2 nodes that you can use to identify your mother with.

I dont understand? I dont have anything to take clones from! i figure it will take at least 8 to 10 weeks to grow a mom that will show preflowers. Then i can take clones of her for a new mother a put the original plant to flower. But it still takes time. Why not flower something in the mean time

its 4 weeks usually until preflowers show.
in a good setup after 20 days you can take clones.

However, if you put something after 2 weeks of veg into flowering it will strech quite a bit and you can take the top 2 nodes that pop first as clone and further on take another one or two.

10 weeks of veg will give you some trees in a well maintained setup.
