What's up, got my babies here, 5 days into flower, just added botanicare pro bloom and a little cal-mag in their water for the first time 2 days ago.
I'm trying to keep the lights to a minimum, I have a 600watr hps in an 8 sq ft closet, without a vent in the ceiling (will b one this weekend) but the closet stays open with windows in the bedroom open for the 12 hours that I keep it lit.
12 hours isn't really easy for me to mange. 10 would b much easier and much cooler, or should I hook up my 150watt hps in the closet as
well, and jus switch lights; give 8 hours to the 600 and 4 to the 150...???
Does this sound like a good idea? Any help, would help lol, n +rep

Run the biggun as much as you can, up to 12hrs. I dont know if I would suggest using a 150hps over anything but maybe 2-4ftsq. You should be okay at 10hrs for flower. I played with my 600hps a lot and found the only difference between 10/14 and 12/12 was the bud grew faster at12/12. Im down to 8/16 now because I heard it accelerates budding. Im such a noob, but Im gna bet that more light = more food = denser buds. Be careful with running a 150 watt light very high above the plants. I had my light WAY to far above mine, and they stretched like crazy. perhaps using just the 600 for 2 less hrs would be a safer bet agains stretching?

As for me, I am too busy smoking and sleeping to know sports. So, I agree with you guys....................

by reducing the hours of light from 12 to 10 you will get much smaller buds BUT itwill ripen quicker and be ready for harvest quicker. but i suggest yu do not do the 10/14 as you will lose a significant amount in final yield. do the 10 hours with 600w and than do the last 2 hours with the 250 making sure it is not too far from plants. in reality late evening sun is much cooler and less powerful than midday sun so usingthe 250w for the lasttwo hours will replicate nature a truly good idea if you cannot use the 600w all the way

Thanks sublime, that's what I was tryin to get at, cuz the sun isn't near equivalent in fall as my 600 in my 8sqft completely white closet lol. But it's a 150 not a 250. And I would love to put it 10 inches above plants with a fan, but now as I think of that, it will require hanging and unhanging the 150 nightly, which might b too big of a pain. Only way I could fit em both without having to constantly adjust, would b to put the light as high as the 600, which is about 30 inches.. Which wouldn't b good lol, my plants have stretched enough. Thanks again for the info sublime, at least I have a second opinion about the fact that 12 hours of perfect sunlight is not entirely natural lol

10/14 what time will they be coming on after the 5th day and so on .to me 7 am to 7 pm rocks
Lol not up by 7 everyday, only days that I have an 8:00am class, other days I take the sleep lol. Not saying I wouldn't set an alarm clock JUST for my girls, but if I'm smashed or something.. Let's just say I'd rather not take the risk lol...
And did u mean that comment to say don't do 10/14?
