12/12 light cycle during the whole grow

Does anyone have any experience on 12/12 light cycles from seedling all the way through flowering? I have been doing it mainly to sort out males early and have seen some flowers coming in, but I feel that my plant in gaining height but not width. Im using a 150w sunsystem cfl with the fox farm family of ferts and the soil is foxfarm light warrior. I'll try to post pics later but my main question is can I keep her flowering but thicken up during the process not so much grow taller.

during the vegetative process the plant absorbs light and converts it to energy or (food).. and what happens to all organisms when they eat??? you get fat! lol same goes for plants.. after you figure out which sex you have you should revert them back to 18/6 or 24 (i prefer 24) hrs of light and puot them back in Veg state so they can get bushier.. they key to a bush is you have to keep topping it and keep that light on 24 hrs a day.. when you plant is sleeping the stem and plants grows vertically but since its not recieving light while sleeping it isnt converting any energy to the foilage .. my plant is in 4th week of flower right now and i realize that i only notice growth every few days right when my lights kick on cuz they grow vertically while they are sleeping.. just a thought man. give it a try

yes it will stop growth, obviously. But you need to realize if you want yield and you want your plant with some mass on it.. you have to give the little girl a chance to eat.. thats equivelent to you going through puberty at about 2 years old lol so u need to ultimately decide what you want.. if you want a bushy plant i would change your lights to 24 hrs and after about 2 weeks or so when the plant is used to that light cycle and once you have established vegetative growth(new leaves not buds) cut off the premature useless buds and grow your plant vegetatively for a couple weeks then you can consider flowering light cycle.. but really its up to you.. if you like what your doing keep doing it . but i can tell u i got monster plants with monster buds so im obviously doing something right hahaha

If you add side lighting it will grow wider.
