Good for fastest turn around on bud, but not necessarily the best for yield. Not positive if it changes potency or quality, but certainly decreases quantity.

a few schools of thoughts
lets say you have 100 seeds you could do the whole grow in 16oz to 20oz cup keep lights on 12/12 plant as many seeds as you can you have to be carefull and watch this grow close, start with like 25 seeds , when they start showing sex pull the males and replace with new seed, this would be gr8 for a flood and drain table

ive done these type of grows before the weed turn out the same but the plant do stay short
like, my tallest out of 20 plants was a male and it was less then 1.5 ft
the females would gow just one main cola (but i would prune it to do that)
i think 12/12 from seed is fine for learning and height restricted grows
you get like 5-7g per plant maybe more maybe less
but if you harvesting 20 plants every 1 or every 2 weeks it dont matter
as you weed the males this creates space for your next crop, making a perpetural grow

This method is called NO MERCY, google it. This dude from the netherlands or something has perfected it. His journals and pictures are actually super rad. He also sells really cheap seeds on his site. I think the main idea behind it is that when you grow from a clone the plant doesn't have a taproot. He claims that growing 12/12 from and seed in soil with as natural conditions as possible will give the best yeild and quality. I grow aero but have always wanted to try this, his grow journals are seriously awesome. hope this helps...

i have done it and it works great all you get is one big bud!! i had a bad batch one time and needed to recoup fast works great!!
